I mean, we're thin at that position. McBride's already got somebody having babies for him and he doesn't need me anyway - he's an American citizen. Who's a good target forward who's not capped by another country and who has some fantasies that he could play for the US (reference: Michael Ricketts).
Oh, I forgot to add, please no one with a face like Etcheverry. I'm not willing to go that far for my country.
Target Forwards a rare beast. Go konk Ruud Van Niestelrooy on the head, drug him, get a uh donor out of him, and then raise him an American!
oh , opps his newborn to be the next target forward. Adriano , Brazil who playes in Italy , perfect for you and for the US of A
Go for Buddle. He's got that boyish charm thing going. He's got the size and skill....... Rob the cradle, baby!
I'm confused. The question is: are there any uncapped-non-US-citizen-target-forwards-of-great-potential out there for nancyb to marry and bring into the fold for service on the US team thereby? Or is it: are there any US target forwards out there that need to reproduce in order to enhance the US soccer gene pool? Or is it: nancyb has a thing for target forwards and is using BS to scout the talent, you know, um "talent" -wise?
Number 1 is the correct question. Please research Michael Ricketts and his claims that he could and he wanted to play for the US. That he could play for the US was absolutely not true because he wasn't a citizen and it would have taken him at least 5 years to get there once he moved to the US and established residency. He based his claims to playing for the US on his father's residency here, which wouldn't help him a bit. BTW - I don't think my genes would help produce a target forward. I think you need people who are a bit over 5 ft. for that.
Well....since you're not tall enough...I'm 5'9, I would gladly take the job of helping to "develop" the country's next great target forward ehehe
BTW, if the women's team needs a few more defenders I'm willing to hit it--er...take one for the team--with Heather Mitts.
Riiiight. Mario, are you kidding? This didn't come across as kidding. Jan Koller won the Bundesliga last year with Borussia Dortmund. Ruud has elements to his game beyond being a target forward, but that's part of what he does. Germany obviously excelled by using power (and Kahn) to overcome its many deficiencies in WC 2002. McBride was a big part of the US' success. Moyes has used a target forward to make Everton a strong club. And on and on.
How about Marlon Harewood? Scored 20 in the English 1st division. Is 6'1" and doesn't turn 24 until August... Ideally, you could hold a tryout for uncapped players and see which one best fits your criteria.
I am glad there are limits. I would hate to see Blanco on your doorstep pretending to be a target forward.
Your jeans would help if they were crumpled up in the corner. Wait... But anyway nancyb. This is the 21st century. Who said you have to MARRY the guy?
