    Ok folks,

Thanks to the masterminds running the NHL (Betman, et al.), should the Bruins win tonight in Jersey, I am faced with the dilemma of going to the Bruins game on saturday at 3 or the Revs game at 4 (with tailgates at 1).

So here goes, what would you do?

the Bruins aren't worth watching, even if they make it that far they're just going to get crushed in the next round. the bruins unfortunately this year have regressed. go out enjoy the Revs home opener, at least there's some hope for them.

bruins pissed me off, especially O'Connell. Tape the B's game and go to the Revs. Plus its a lot cheaper.

Think that answers your question Jon.

As a huge bruins and revs fan I'd be really torn...

anyway, on a side note, can I just say how I don't think players in the US, in the major sports sports, do a very good job of acknowledging fan support at the end of a game. (soccer players being the exception).

At the end of the B's game on Tues., the players just left the ice at the end of the game, where as Revs players (and soccer players in Europe as well) at least acknowledge fan support.

    why is this?

    Talk about pain.

Weber King apparently thinks Gary Bettman makes the playoff schedule. The perils of inhaling grill fumes...

Anyway, I say you go to the Bruins, if only because you'd kill yourself if you missed Game 6 of the greatest comeback in NHL playoff history (note: I'm not saying it will happen, but if it did...).

Personally I blame either Bud Selig or Revs management for the terrible scheduling of the NHL Playoffs. I can't believe they didn't ask the WK for his schedule before they put theirs together. ;)

My guess is that with overseas clubs, they really are more of a part of the community than US sports franchises are, particularly in the smaller countries or the smaller clubs in big countries. Even in major clubs, the "socios" have voting rights, and it's not unusual to have a fan rep on the board and the entire club management being voted out of office. Because of that, there's more of a connection with the fans.

As for MLS/US soccer, part of it is soccer tradition, and part is genuine sense of gratitude on the players' part. They know this is a marginal sport, and they genuinely appreciate the fans' support, particularly the more vocal ones.

You'd think the people running clubs in the big US sports would pick up on this and steal it, since with every passing year, there is a growing emotional gap between fans and players. As hollow as it may be, you'd expect someone to try and get some mileage out of it.

Ouch - that's the worst. Two years ago we were leaving to go to Disney and we were involved in a pretty serious wreck [livery service]. Only person that was injured was me - badly bruised ribs. Oddly, we made our flight - I wish I never got on that plane [I contracted H.pilori while at Disney and the night we got back the police decided to put a halt to a car chase - right on my front lawn. There were other nightmares along the way, but those are the more memorable ones].

Six months after the fact I still had daily reminders of the crash.

How did it happen? Also, are you interested in getting rid of your tix? My son and a friend are looking to go. Let me know.

Remember: Keep icing them bad boys.

Jon: It's the end of the line for the Bruins - see you at the Revs match.

    Well -Duh!

The Bruins will only rip your heart out and stomp it on the ground before your very eyes. They learned this trick form the Red Sox. The Rev's consistently aim low and overachieve.

Had you posted this on the Bruins fan page, the results might be different. Who was the lone "Bruins" voter? Probably a devils fan, no doubt!

Hey Jon if it comes to a Game 6 go to the Bruins game only because there are at least 14 more Revs games, and like someone said you dont wanna miss what could be a great comeback to tie the series at 3. Another great scheduling thing is teh Celtics open their playoff series at 3 on Espn, so we possibly have the Bruins on ABC at 3, Celtics at 3 on ESPN an the Revs on at 4 on ESPN 2. All Boston all the time. :)

Anyone interested in 2 sets (14 games) of unused playoff tickets?

Find me at the Riders' tailgate lot on saturday if interested... :)
