What promotional items would you like to see for season ticket holders? In the past we have gotten a Bobblehead, Burn scarf, Polo shirt, Video of previous season's higlights, free parking (nice while it lasted - the good old days), etc. I liked the video highlights and the Season Ticket Holder Polo. I'd like to get a Burn wall clock or Burn lap throw blanket.
If they are going to have a nice pub, club, or seating place to eat, couple of free passes would be nice. It would also be a nice way to promote their club. Polo shirt would be nice as well.
Red and black jester hats. Red and black 'terrible towels'. Red and black dart boards with Dema as the bulls eye.
How about a couple of vouchers for the $5 beers sold at the Cotton Bowl for ALL returning 2003 season ticket holders? What says, "Man, I'm sorry" better than a cold beer?
real soccer balls, not the minature ones. how's about a dema doll with 2 broken legs? more good t-shirts. how's about some sort of cd with a fantasy team program that allows fans 2 pick different burn players for goals scored, etc... it could include some better computer wallpapers, maybe some way 2 track the players, put in their stats, etc...
Magnetic Calendars! I'd love for them to add the All-Star game and MLS Cup. USOC final dates to the calendar. Oh Yeah! Mark the Brimstone Cup games on the calendar in some special way.
Magnetics Schedules!!! That was just one more cheapskate move the Burn pulled last year, how do you not have magentic schedules? I figure with the location of Dragon stadium maybe they considered a compass giveaway.
YES Magnetic Schedules on Opening day are a must. I still have the last one up on my Fridge waiting a replacement. T-Shirts are a great give-away and help to advertise the team. I also liked the trading cards they used to give out until a few years ago. Free Beer <drool> Of course anything is going to be better than last years situation, but I hope they have everything stocked consistently this year. Before at the Cotton Bowl some games they would have Mike's Hard some days not. Some games they would have Tecate, sometimes they would have limes. It was different each time.
Silk Scarves Wouldn't that be cool? A silk scarf (or a poly-blend) with Burn colors and logo...During WC98 I went to the Spain-Bulgaria Game and a Bulgarian fan traded scarves with me - it was just one layer of thin material with solid color dyes on both sides and a logo silk-screened on one side and satin-stitch embroidery around the edges. Colorful, lightweight, and not too hot for the summer. mini flag with fringe You know those 3" x 5" or so badge shaped flags that is a mini version of the items you see team captains exchange at the beginning of a tournament? rowdy rag - terrible towel always a great item - provides shade for your head, can be dipped in cold water for relief from the texas heat, great for waving in goal celebrations!
Crutches and a "Dema got me too" sign for when DC comes. Red flares for Brimstone Cup games. Pillows to stick under our shirts for Sigi and the Galaxy. Some sort of fake eyes that look like they are going to pop out for Bradley and the Metrostars. A big bag of nothing for KC. Half a man voodoo dolls for Carrieri, Spencer and the Rapids. Lots of pins free of charge.
Certainly free beer. Free lap dances from the cheerleaders that will surely be around next year. Free BDSM show after the game. Not by the cheerleaders, though. It is only entertaining if done by professionals.
Mini Fans The miniture battery operated fans handed out last year were a big hit - anything to cool the Burning summer heat (like free beer)
Those miniballs were a big hit as a competitive league of bedroom soccer was commenced by kids on the block. I have some broken stuff to prove it! The jerseys are always welcome too.
I orered a Galaxy calendar in the hopes that Ryan, Paul or Antonio would at least be in the background of one of the "marquee" players' month (they weren't), so now it's in the bottom drawer. Maybe we could have a "mini" calendar with the current players' pictures that went through March 2005. - or team pictures from the Spain trip, practice pictures, some that show the guys being themselves. That's part the the excitement of this sport for me - ordinary looking guys doing extraordinary plays on the field. I'd like to have a picture of the competing teams in the prayer circle after the game. To me, the show of togetherness and friendship, even after they've been calling each other every name in the book during the game, makes me proud of our boys. Also, the autograph cards they had at the last game of the season were nice. They do, however, need to have a few more flattering pictures of the players on the cards. In BURN UNIFORMS. Almost like a family photo album. Maybe a short note from each player to the fans at the bottom of the picture that makes them more memorable to the newbies, something about their best soccer memory so far, or funniest joke ever played on them, or best thing a fan heckler ever said to them, or something like that. Hey, we've made some of the opponent's laugh, right? Something to make the game real to the audience that HSG is trying to court. Hey, we might like it too. Kind of like Buzz's notes from last year's trip. The cereal bowls were good. Also, maybe some drink coozies that would fit the water bottles too. The antenna balls were good - but should say "Dallas Burn Soccer" instead of "Pepsi". Cowbells? Twirling noisemakers? Stuff that doesn't break easily, and can be used for years.
You know what I could really go for - a Burn Team calendar. Its year 9 of this team and we still can't buy a frigging coffee mug or calendar. Calendars - you know - like the ones MLS used to do and for some reason stopped doing them. My wife gave me for Xmas a calendar with family pictures she did thru Shutterfly.com - so its not exactly like re-printing the Guttenberg Bible. MLS and Burn merchandise are pathetic - mostly because they lack initiative and creativity.
Well, the Burn doesn't need cheerleaders, so maybe they could do a calendar with the Mavs skanks, errrr, dancers where they're wearing nothing but a torn Burn jersey,
How about a Dema punching bag. Or a snorkel whenever Ruiz and Cobi Jones comes to town. How 'bout a dart board with Mike Jeffries face on it. Maybe a bumper sticker that proudly proclaims "We're #10!"
I really like the Bobbleheads, plus cool t-shirts that can't be bought and are only given out at a game would be cool. Magnet schedules are great. Team posters, balls and mini balls. Make cups for the Drinks that have burn on them, I love saving those from other sports. Anything really as a fan it is fun to have anything at all with your favorite team on it.
Trading Cards - Be nice to get a freebie pack of the new 2004 Upper Deck cards coming out this summer! And yes the lunchboxes did rock!!!
