I'm a tall, athletic Central Midfielder, standing at 6'3''. I love playing in the center of the pitch because I like to distribute the ball using my passing skills, which is something that I personally think is my best asset, paired with my vision of the field.

This season, before I suffered an injury (broken elbow - 8-10 weeks, yet to return) I was asked to slot in behind the striker, in a new formation playing in a 'trequartista' role, I like to call it that because I'm Italian. But to anyone who isn't aware, it is another word for a playmaker, who sits in behind the striker. This puts me closer to goal, and if I am within 30 yards, I know I can damage the opposition, either through creating space for team mates in behind the back 4, or testing the keeper from range, or on the edge of the 18. I havn't played in this role much, but the games I have played in it, I've loved it.

At 6'3'', many people at my club have told me I should be playing up front, as a target man. But, I've been selected in midfield all my life and I myself think I've got a midfielders mentality, not a strikers.

So, let us know what position you play and tell us why it think it suits your strengths!

When coached my adult team I liked my offensive mids your size. I liked my stopper and striker your size, but that just me.

For what reason did you like players this size? To be able to bring the ball down in the air and control possesion?

Offensive mid better view of the field and stronger on physical play

Stopper better control of the attacker striker

Striker has better balance when he faces the passer. Better when going up for headers.

I love playing playing LW or LM. I feel as if I have as much space to do as I wish, whether it is going down the line and crossing the ball in or cutting into the box and placing a shot to the top right corner. The fact that I can go all the way up and down the left half of the pitch is fantastic.

That is not true actually. If you stay on a flank you can disappear during games. When Donovan was on the Olympic team he was a flank player he would disappear during games. So much so the coach put hm on the bench because he was not get involved enough in games.

Now he knows how to move better from the flank position.

I love being the attacking midfielder in a midfield 3. It gives me the freedom to roam around, and as i am quite positionally aware, i know how to find spaces to combine with either winger or the striker or when to break past the striker. Opponents hate it when i sprint back, wrestle the ball back and play a Alonso esque ball back over their defence ;)

I can play anywhere on the left.

I like it because it utilises my pace and crossing skills.

I do have my downfalls to my game, such as heading, so the left side suits me down to a tee.

I used to be a centre attacking midfielder, but I was recently switched to the leftback position, and I must say that I absolutely love my new position. My awareness down the flank dwarfs that of when I was upfront. Every soccer player has that one position made for them and this is mine.

What I like most about the position is shutting down all these wingers who honestly believe they're the next Cristiano Ronaldo, that is more rewarding to me than scoring any goal ever could. I also have pretty good stamina, so during certain times in a game when I see the opposition gasping for air, I'll make an unexpected run up the flank and give my team an extra man upfront.

You want to play so you can support both strikers and both wing mids in a 442 on attack not just one side. Easy to train for it play on a liitle more then a half field 2striker, 2wingers and you against defensive mid 4 backs and a keeper.

I usually play as a target forward now, which probably fits my skill set best but isn't my favorite position. I'm definitely not a traditional target forward. I'm short, so prefer the ball to feet, but have found that I'm good at holding up the ball in traffic and turning to face goal under pressure. My favorite thing about it is combining with teammates; one thing that's nice about the position is that I actually find it easier to see teammates making runs and play them in on goal from a target forward role than from midfield, where I used to play. My single favorite thing about playing the target role is probably flicking the ball in behind the defense from a back-to-goal position.

My favorite position to play is on the left wing. I'm right-footed, and I like to cut inside and shoot from outside the box.

The slightly odd thing is that, when playing in midfield, I tend to score more goals than I assist, and when playing as a forward, I tend to assist more than I score.

left back. this way i can take the ball on my right and bring it into middle of field occasionally for dangerous run. also can take on the best midfielders or attackers and stop them one on one.

DCM/deep play-maker. I appreciate the tactical portion of the game, I want the ball and I want to distribute it. I'm not one to take a guy on, I'd much rather rip the defense open with a through ball then with 40 yd run through 4 defenders. I also like to shoot from outside of the box and make the occasional run from deep where you can just ghost into the penalty area. I also love going up against ACMs and stopping them in their tracks.

I play on a highschool team. Normally, I play right forwards. I love that position because crossing the ball in front of the net is always fun, and I love having chances to score goals for my team!

Defence (CB) is the only place I feel comfortable playing on the football pitch. Sure, I can fill in some other positions if I'm required to do so, and when that happens, I don't mind doing it, however, I wouldn't be able to regularly play elsewhere other than a CB. I enjoy sliding in for a tackle, blocking shots, throwing myself in where it's dangerous and I enjoy the feeling I get when I make a great tackle. That's why.

Striker. I've just had a knack for scoring goals. But now that I'm in my 30s and just playing men's leagues for fun, the sheer joy of scoring goals just isn't there as much. Knowing that you don't need your A-game to beat that defender and the keeper just isn't as exhilarating. Now when I have to go against the young bucks, the high school and college kids it still gets my competitive juices flowing. But that's rare.

I've also done stints at left back and left midfield. I'm naturally right footed but taught myself how to have a nasty left foot in my 20s.

I'm a little guy, so I try to model my play after the players of my stature. On defense, like Lahm, at midfield, like Scholes/Xavi. When playing forward I still try to play a possession game like Silva does for Spain.

I play Right or Left wing/ Forward. I like staying more in the middle of the field than 100% attacking because I like playing with the ball, distributing to my teamates etc.

I user to be a left winger in my high school years because I was a fast sprinter and had great crosses. I was never one to take many shots on net. My coach then converted me to left back which I loved. As I got older, I bulked up more (I used to be skin and bones) lost some speed but gained more tactical knowledge and how to use my body more. I now play CB and mostly indoor.

I've been a RF for as long as I can remember. I've always had a knack for creating goals or finishing. Plus I can utilize my speed to run onto through balls past the defense to create something. FYI I'm 6'2" :)

I used to play as a striker or wide midfield, but nowadays, I have settled down as a central defender.

I'm a forward, but I can also play as a midfielder, defender, and goalkeeper, so I'm basically a utility player. I enjoy playing on the shoulder of the last opposing defender and seeing if I can outrun him or not whenever I get the opportunity to. I also enjoy scoring goals and setting them up for whoever's open. I'm only 175 cm tall without cleats on, so I'm not very tall, but that doesn't stop me from taking on players who are bigger than me.
