I've played attacker the past 3 or 4 years... mid before that and i've played defence a long time ago. But i'll play wherever the coach sees best. I'm enjoying playing up front though.
I'm playing up front at the moment but I'm more comfortable either left midfield (or right) or in central midfield.
Striker or in the hole behind the two forwads is my best position. I can run at center mid and sweeper as well. I play a bit like a combo of Rooney and Adraino when in attacking positions(not as good as them needless to say).
I play mostly as an outside defender, but I played everywhere this year- central midfield, wing, forward.
Right Back, Right Wing Back, Centre Back, Centre Midfield, Right Midfield, Left Midfield, Attacking Midfield, Defensive Midfield, Right Wing Forward, Lone Striker, Left Wing Forward, Free Role. Our teams doing that Dutch total football stuff.
center of midfield... usually more attacking then defending... occasionally a striker for the highschool
A few months ago, I asked my little sister's friend what position he plays for on his highschool varsity (american)football team. His answer: "Delantero."
I play mostly defensive midfeilder but, I can play wherever I am needed. That's basically why I am known by a lot of coaches in my area, and they all want me on their teams. I remember last season I went to tryouts late, but since it was already pretty much over I just asked if I could show them anything else and they said no, they each already had me on their lists. Turns out I got put on the sh!ittiest team in the league.
With everyone here being so goddamn versatile, I beg to ask why you're here on BigSoccer and not tearing it up professionally? But, for the sake of sounding like everyone.. I only played organized football for 2 years when I was 13 and 14. Right before kickoff of my very first game EVER, the coach pulled me aside and handed me the armband. I played forward that day, and the next 5 matches, alongside my childhood bestfriend and neighbor, before being moved back to Amid. That season, I lined up as Striker, CB, Dmid, Amid and even rode pine a few halves. Damn the coach's son!! The position I most played in was Dmid, though. Captain all throughout 1995 and 1996. Interestingly enough, I wore the #6. So ends talk of my playing days.
The more versitile players often don't have one skill that stands out or are the ones who run their asses off.
They said they could play the position they didn't say they could play it well. As for the pro's I pretty much lost my shot at any real career when i did the damage to my leg that has been discussed in other threads but I am trying out for a USL pro team this weekend just to see if I still have the ability to play at a some what high level.
Predominantly forward, but I tend to drop deep and can also play on the left wing or in centre-mid (which will perhaps become my long-term future position). I'm right footed, but seem to play alot better on the left hand side.
