Aside from his studio embed commentaries, such as they were, during the war, and his other post "major combat operation" commentaries, such as they are, what views does he hold? --On taxes? --On budget deficits? --On the economy? --On health care? --On entitlement programs? On any other group of issues? What does he believe? And when did he believe it?
What are George Bush's views? On taxes: For 'em, except for the rich. On budget deficits: For 'em. On the economy: The economy's going just fine, so long as my friends don't have to sell their yatchs. On health care: I'm healthy, ain't I? On entitlement programs: If you call giving $18 billion dollar contracts to Halliburton an entitlement program, then YEE-HAH! If the Democrats need to nominate a pain-in-the-butt member of the industrial-military establishment in order to get Bush the f--k out of there, then count me in as a founding member of Pain In the Ass Members of the Industrial Military Establishment for Clarke.
Re: Re: What policy views/ideas does Wesley Clark have? I had noticed that on this board some of the conservative posters would bring up Bill Clinton in response to a question on W. I thought it was a tactic done only by those posters, but I guess I was wrong. The question still wasn't answered, what are Wesley Clark's policy views?
Wes did say that on the next few weeks he will me making some policy speeches on various topics. Stayed tuned.
Re: Re: Re: What policy views/ideas does Wesley Clark have? I truly don't have a clue. But if it were a choice between Satan and George W, it would still come down to a couple of counties in Florida.
Re: Re: Re: What policy views/ideas does Wesley Clark have? Of course, you know, that particular response was TOTALLY predictable from the left...anything to demonize George W. Again, I asked the question because, frankly, I simply do not know what his views are apart from his studio commentary.
Well, I do know that on Tuesdays he supports the war in Iraq, but on Wednesdays he opposes the war. I'm not sure where he stands on other days of the week, though.
According to that web site, he wants to "Invest 3% of GDP on development assistance abroad" Is he mathematically challenged or does he want to spend $300 BILLION on foreign aid?
Re: Re: Re: Re: What policy views/ideas does Wesley Clark have? Oh yes, the left jumps on every general who flirts with the idea of running for office, we just creamed our jeans when Colin Powell was mentioned as a candidate.
Re: Re: Re: Re: What policy views/ideas does Wesley Clark have? Bush is Satan so he'd have to win that one.
Re: Re: Re: What policy views/ideas does Wesley Clark have? Bush is an OXYmoron. http://finance.yahoo.com/q?s=oxy For the record, so was Gore.
Re: Re: What policy views/ideas does Wesley Clark have? Nope, just a couple of simple questions. Of course, if I said that Wesley Clark was jumping ito the race to --act as a placeholder for Hilary, or --act as the Clintonites candidate of choice, or --act as Terry McAuliffe's/DLC's candidate of choice, or --fill a huge vaccum of "unelectablity" that wafts from all the other candidates, or... --any or ALL of the above.... Now THAT would be cynical. But I am not saying that, not at all.
Re: Re: Re: What policy views/ideas does Wesley Clark have? In that case, I won't say that Clark's views on domestic policy are irrelevant as long as he sticks t the platform on domestic issues. I won't say that Clark makes W look like a preening neophyte in international affairs. I won't say that conservatives, Republicans, and Kellerites seem to be in quite a hurry to find something wrong with him, likely because of his imminent electability. I won't say that the "Clintonite" charge is a desperate act that looks silly in its meaningless fervor. I won't say that the only real domestic issue is that W and the Republicans are defeated, regardless of by whom. And I won't say there are worse things in the world than being the puppet of the DLC, such as being the puppet of the RNC. We'll just both have to non-cynically agree to presume that Gen. Clark is a man of longstanding, deeply held beliefs respecting domestic policy that he will be sharing with the American people in the course of his campaign, I suppose.
Re: Re: Re: Re: What policy views/ideas does Wesley Clark have? I suppose. . .though I might also suppose that any "depth" than emanates from his beliefs on domestic policy could possibly stem from being deeply coached, as opposed to deeply held. Of course, W. proves how successful an approach THAT can be.
Re: Re: Re: What policy views/ideas does Wesley Clark have? Conservatives eat the flesh of children, don't ya know.
Re: Re: Re: Re: What policy views/ideas does Wesley Clark have? I thought they just drank the blood. Thanks for the clarification. I'll amend my earlier statement - there is such a thing as a compassionate conservative, but it ain't what Bush is selling.
