When Chapman is busy singing the praises of Coach Murphy, he can't figure out the obvious. On the Heaps ejection he comments that one the foul itself, "...oh yes, that was worthy of a yellow card.'' Doug, that was barely a foul...more like a dive. And then when the replay clearly shows Heaps thrusting forward trying to head butt the crew player, Dougie says, " there appears to be contact made. Doug, go back to writing columns on youth soccer...that's more your speed.
Watching the play live (and I don't want to hear "after watching the play 5 or 6 times in slow motion, I'm sure the ref erred") it was obvious that Heaps was going to get a yellow, especially after narrowly escaping a yellow earlier on.
I know people in RI could not get the ATT broadcast but what station were you watching? I never heard Doug or anyone else mention Murphy's name??????????? Makes me feel you might have some personal issues there?????? As for Heaps, he deserved the Red, no question at all. First he had a bad foul on the Crew player (which could have been his second yellow), then he tried to waste time by keeping the ball (again this could have been a yellow). When the Crew’s Garcia tried to get the ball back he head butt him. On the planet football, that’s a red. If Doug said there was contact, he was right. He also said that Garcia embellished the incident. Again he was right. So where is your problem? Maybe the game is too fast for your "football" brain. Next time tape it and put it on slow mo so you can clearly see and hear what’s going on.
I'd prefer Lynch bashing. Tonight at 11 news. Baseball - football - then the Revs. Garcia reaches for the ball and Heaps drops it - "that wasn't so bad." (has no idea what the red was for) Heaps head-butts - "ooh, that's vicious!" Stutters through to explain five-point system. "I don't know. Don't call me. It's wrong. You have to win win win to go to championship." On the other hand, channel 7 gave the Revs the proper respect by introducing them first.
Heaps didn't get a card early in the game when he completely missed the ball and took out Garcia. That right there should have been a yellow. Basically, Heaps did enough in 30 or so minutes to deserve 3 yellow cards. If he didn't deserve an ejection, then it I don't know what you guys are thinking.
Perhaps the best victory in team history and a thoroughly enjoyable event to watch for Revolution supporters that could get AT&T3. Now Mr. ClearBlue, I think you are foggy. Or perhaps you just had bad reception on your cable. I do not recall John Murphy's name being brought up. I believe Doug said that Heap's first yellow was somewhat marginal. He said there was some contact on the headbutt, that Heaps was wrong and that Garcia made a meal of it by his embellishment. I think Garcia is not the only one embellishing here.
This Doug Chapman s**t is getting really tired, don't you think? If hes drawing that much of your enjoyment away from a game like the last one you must be just waiting for him to make a mistake. For our part, we were all to busy yelling at Heap's and Garcia on the tube to hear what anyone else said and for that matter to care what was said! I just wish that guy with the whistle next to me on the couch would stop blowing it the whole game..where's security when you really need them?
