I have decided that watching Kotonoha no Niwa will be an official Valentine's Day tradition for me. Makoto Shinkai may not be that good at writing a big fulfilling story, but there's just something about the way he does it that can specifically evoke whatever emotion he's trying to evoke at a given time. Also, it's all visually brilliant. Every time you watch, you find another detail in the frame. It's honestly just one of the greatest films ever made in animation and it's only 45 minutes. Just, the animation of the rain alone is good enough to make you love it.
In honor of John DiMaggio coming back as Bender, one of my favorite scenes from probably my favorite episode:
It is the 25th anniversary of Buffy the Vampire Slayer (tv show). Starting to watch season 1, to see how it stands up after a quarter century So far, after half of the first season, it rather does hold up.
Russian doll. I don’t remember season 1 but this show is brilliant. She just took dmt and went back to Budapest to reclaim her holocaust surviving family was entitled too. And she somehow made it funny.
Watched Draft Day (2014) Gotta say: I don't know how they sold that script to that star-studded cast.
Anyone seen that nick cage movie they say has perfect reviews? I don’t believe them so I’m tempted to go find out.
I love Michelle Yeoh, James Wong and Jamie Lee Curtis and the actor who played Yeoh's husband was also spectacular. It's been bothering me for the week since I saw it that he seemed so familiar. Finally looked it up today, it's Ke Huy Quan, also known as Short Round from temple of doom and the inventor kid from the Goonies. Apparently, it's his first acting role in like 20 years and it was great.
The last half of the last season of Ozark. I really don't know how it will turn out, but... It will either be depressing or disappointing.
