That’s gotta be an emotional dagger for LAG. 0-7 pasting on the weekend into a multi goal second half lead right after, only to lose. Brutal.
I’ll quote myself. If this result holds for Miami, it will be 4 points from their last 7 games in all comps. By contrast, DCU, who are very much in the suck conversation, have 11 points from their last 7 matches.
And yes, it’s fair to recognize that two of Miami’s games in that span were against Vancouver in Champions Cup and one of DC’s was against Charleston in USOC, but still.
I haven’t seen much of the Galaxy this season before tonight, but it’s comical that we’re 6 places above them in the overall standings. Their performance against LAFC is so far beyond anything DCU has done this year. They are better tactically and far more talented than us. And they’re doing it without their best player, who is among the best in the entire league.
Should I start watching Miami's games so I can enjoy them losing - Or is that tempting the Soccer Gods?
https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...-league-editing-it-out?CMP=Share_iOSApp_Other This is worth a few moments to read. A controversial goal, followed by whining, anger, and recrimination. The greatest player in the world making baseless allegations about the referee after the game. This is the stuff sports fans dream of, the stuff that fills back pages the world over, the stuff that makes sports dramatic. That would be a dream come true for every sports league on earth from the Uzbeki third division to the NFL. Every league on earth, that is, except for MLS. In MLS, since the advent of MLSSoccer.com and then Apple TV, all drama is forbidden because (I think?) the league's muckety mucks believes that drama makes the league look bad. There's just a bunch of excellent teams trying to win excellent games over other excellent teams and anything interesting that happens that is not excellent is absolutely silenced. So in MLS, they edit out the drama from the highlights packages, don't mention it in any (self-made) media, and hope that it just disappears. Which mostly it does, since there are so few non-MLS/Apple-produced media out there. A universe exists where they don't silence this drama and I am absolutely certain that in this universe the league is a far, far more interesting place. I know I've been harping about this for months/years but they are dangerously close to making the league completely uninteresting and that is the very worst thing a league can be.
Nope - I am not interested at all in whining and screaming and baseless allegations about refs or anybody - These are not signs of an exciting league - These are signs of junior high league - If those actions comprise the news highlights, then I'm not interested - I want to watch good soccer, mostly by my team - I'll be disappointed if its the mostly opponent playing great and not my team, but its not favoritism by the Refs who are very uninterested in the who wins Suck it up - Be an adult and do better next time -
Yes, that’s it!!!! I haven’t been able to out my finger right in what bothers me about the Apple announcers but that’s it, right there.
Watched the highlights of today’s Galaxy match. What an awful display of soccer. No wonder the league is looked down upon.
Anyone know what's the deal with Luciano Acosta? He wasn't in the lineup or bench when FC Dallas visited Seattle and I can't find any news about him. Was he hurt in the midweek US Open Cup game?
