I know there are over 9,000 threads concerning TH14 right now, but I felt this deserves a poll to see exactly what the general consensus is about him.

Personally... I'm devastated, heartbroken, and, above all, angry out of my mind. I can't believe he's picked a different team above ours, and the fact that he's trying to justify it by giving all Gooners proverbial blowjobs with this Gunner for life horsesh1t is only making me angrier by the second. He lied to ALL of us when he signed that contract last summer. And the fact that he's got the gall to say that he wasn't lying when he said that he was a Gunner for life by trying to say that once one is a Gunner, he is always a Gunner, is some of the worst bullsh1t I've ever heard. Once you pick a different team over Arsenal that means you are no longer a Gunner. None of us would ever do so.

He's been my hero for years, and now to me he is no different that Ashley Cole, because he's done the exact same thing! He's just switched teams because he thinks his new one is better than the Arsenal. To me, this is unforgivable.

The worst part of it is that it's made this cvnt correct: [IMG]

You're not thinking of hurting yourself are you? Please don't do anything crazy... I know things seem hopeless right now, and you think they'll never get any better, but there is hope out there. There are people that love you and care about you and they would truly be devastated if anything happened to you. Would you like a number to call so you can get some help?

Okay, you're being facetious, I understand, but I'm not sure of your angle here. Are you uneffected by Henry's departure?

It's OK, let it out, your amongst friends here. I understand that you're feeling angry... betrayed... like the one thing that you had that made life worth living is gone. But can't you see that something new is waiting just around the corner? There are so many other players out there, good players, young players, players with passion, players that care, players that would love to entertain you if you'd only give them the chance. You've got to open your heart to new possibilities.

Good for him, he thinks the grass in greener on the other side, they better win a lot while he's there, because unlike at Arsenal, Barca fans and the Catalan media are not very patient, and they will turn on him very quickly.

A good point, but Pires didn't sign a four-year contract at the club the previous year. And Pires realized he didn't have much of a future at Arsenal, as he was not going to be a regular member of the first team. These are none of the problems faced by Thierry Henry. When Robert Pires left for Villareal, he knew he was not doing much damage, if any, to the team. Henry knows that he is very valuable, and yet he has no problem in leaving.

Very very true. Some of the names we are being linked with, while I know may not even pan out, would definitely be great for the team and could replace what Henry brought. Henry barely played at season-if we bring in a player like Anelka or Huntelaar or one of the others it would be an upgrade over what we had last season.

That's right, we just need to be strong right now. We need to believe... believe that there's hope for a bright future for us... believe that there is hope for a better tomorrow, for all of us. And it doesn't have to come from outside, it can happen within. If we can just believe... believe in our young players, because they are the future. *cues music*

I believe that children are our future
Teach them well and let them lead the way
Show them all the beauty they possess inside
Give them a sense of pride to make it easier
Let the children's laughter remind us how we used to be

    Everybody's searching for a hero
People need someone to look up to
I never found anyone who fulfilled my needs
    A lonely place to be
And so I learned to depend on me

I decided long ago, never to walk in anyone's shadows
If I fail, if I succeed
At least I lived as I believe
No matter what they take from me
They can't take away my dignity
Because the greatest love of all
    Is happening to me
I found the greatest love of all
    Inside of me
    The greatest love of all
    Is easy to achieve
    Learning to love yourself
It is the greatest love of all

I believe that children are our future
Teach them well and let them lead the way
Show them all the beauty they possess inside
Give them a sense of pride to make it easier
Let the children's laughter remind us how we used to be

I decided long ago, never to walk in anyone's shadows
If I fail, if I succeed
At least I lived as I believe
No matter what they take from me
They can't take away my dignity
Because the greatest love of all
    Is happening to me
I found the greatest love of all
    Inside of me
    The greatest love of all
    Is easy to achieve
    Learning to love yourself
It is the greatest love of all

And if by chance, that special place
    That you've been dreaming of
Leads you to a lonely place
    Find your strength in love

    Alright, Group Hug Everybody...

    Are we feeling better now?

I'll take Huntelaar, but no thanks on Anelka. To be honest, my anger isn't as a result of me thinking Henry left us a ravaged and totally incomplete team, because I know we can get through it (and would have had to pretty soon anyway, what with Henry's age.) I just didn't appreciate Henry's four-year contract and then subsequent bailage. I can't respect him anymore. I know the team will pull through it. Here's another factor though; an oft-discussed one: Wenger and Fabregas' futures. If we lose the latter, I think it would be pretty bad for the team; if and when we lose the former I think it will be devastating, as has been said my hundreds of people on this board already.

I'm disapointed with the move, but if I can get any glimmer of hope I can see Henry coming to the MLS in a couple of years for his semi-retirement.

We need to start singing this song:

    To the left
    To the left
    To the left
    To the left
    To the left
    To the left
Everything you own in the box to the left
In the closet that's my stuff - Yes
If I bought it ********** please don't touch
And keep talking that mess, that's fine
But could you walk and talk at the same time
And It's my mine name that is on that Jag
So remove your bags let me call you a cab

Standing in the front yard telling me
How I'm such a fool - Talking about
How I'll never ever find a man like you
    You got me twisted

You must not know about me
You must not know about me
I could have another you in a minute
matter fact he'll be here in a minute - baby

You must not know about me
You must not know about me
I can have another you by tomorrow
So don't you ever for a second get to thinking you're irreplaceable

So go ahead and get gone
And call up on that chick and see if she is home
Oops, I bet ya thought that I didn't know
What did you think I was putting you out for?
    Cause you was untrue
Rolling her around in the car that I bought you
Baby you dropped them keys hurry up before your taxi leaves
Standing in the front yard telling me
How I am such a fool - Talking about
How I'll never ever find a man like you
    You got me twisted

You must not know about me
You must not know about me
I could have another you in a minute
matter fact he'll be here in a minute - baby

You must not know about me
You must not know about me
I will have another you by tomorrow
So don't you ever for a second get to thinking you're irreplaceable

So since I’m not your everything
    How about I'll be nothing
    Nothing at all to you
Baby I wont shead a tear for you
    I won't lose a wink of sleep
Cause the truth of the matter is
    Replacing you is so easy

    To the left
    To the left
    To the left
    To the left
    To the left
    To the left
Everything you own in the box to the left

    To the left
    To the left

Don't you ever for a second get to thinking you're irreplaceable

You must not know about me
You must not know about me
I could have another you in a minute
matter fact he'll be be here in a minute - baby

You must not know about me
You must not know about me
I can have another you by tomorrow

Where's the - I'm sad now but I know he'll always be a gunner for life - option?

One thing I know for sure is that when Arsenal achieve success without him, he may be initially a bit sad but he will be genuinely happy for the club, truly happy. He may have felt compelled to make this decision but that doesn't make him love Arsenal any less. Just the way life is.

Basically wut i feel is pretty bitter-sweet. i luv arsenal and ive been a fan since i was only 12 but...i've been a barca fan for quite some time also, they have players that only some clubs dream of having. so my final thoughts are...
    - GOOD LUCK HENRY, HOPE YOU DO WELL.

It's a shame that he is leaving because it means the EPL is losing arguably, the breatest attacking players it's ever seen. As a Man Utd fan I'm delighted because I no longer have to watch him destroy us at any more.

Still, I salute the player, the man and his achievements.......

Personally, Im gutted. Anyone pretending to not be bothered about it is kidding themselves. I no it is likely we will now sign somebody to replace him but currently we have RVP, Adebayor & Bendtner goin in to next season.

But Henry is different to Ashley Cole. Cole saw the money and the success Chelsea were having. Barca dint win anything major this year, though neither did we. But because of the speculation, Henry decided he couldn't stay. Because of things behind the scenes, he left. At least he had the decency to talk about it and discuss his genuine love for the club. At Christmas, he prob will have scored 10 goals already against the shky Spanish defences and we will all be moaning.

I think 16m makes us look like mugs. Yes he's 30 but you can still be 30 and world class! Zidane was a similar age when he went to Madrid and he scored an incredible goal for them to win the CL the next season! Henry could easily do the same.

I also believe that >gulp< if Kroneke had come in and Dein had stayed, Henry would still be here. But the board we have are old fashined and fair enough. But if they wanna stay, they've got to spend. Otherwise, in 5 years, they'll have an incredible stadium, great fans (us), average players and chants of sack the board. We'll be like Newcastle!

He came, he changed the way we played football, he scored 226 goals and he set the league on fire. But he's gone, it's time to move on, find people we feel can replace him and start the next chapter.

BTW, that means winning something major or AW & Cesc will be heading to Spain next summer
