You didn't read the article, so not much there to discuss. Had you actually read it and criticized the league based on information from that article, I wouldn't have said a thing. The article is about career progression and access to the European football pyramid. Turning it into a story about players leaving the CPL for higher pay is reading something into the article (that you clearly didn't read) that simply isn't there. Salary isn't discussed at all. The evidence presented is about opportunity, not money.

Time is running out for the team. According to my information, it must communicate its intentions to the MLS regarding the winter schedule by the end of this summer. There are only two options: the Olympic Stadium or relocation. According to my sources, two cities in the southern United States are regularly inquiring with the Commissioner's office about the Olympic Stadium situation. If it comes to that, the MLS will pursue the most financially attractive option. If the government waits until the fall to make its intentions known, it could be too late. Let's remember that the team already needs to find a venue to host playoff matches this fall, as well as for the mini winter season in 2027. The Commissioner is prepared to make concessions to accommodate Montréal temporarily in the schedule (fall 2027 through winter 2028), but only if the stadium renovations move forward. From what I understand, even if the full budget is not provided immediately, there may still be a way to keep the project alive by completing the most urgent work first, with the hope of securing the remaining funding later. I cannot stress enough that we are at the eleventh hour on this issue. MLS is hoping for a positive outcome, but it is also preparing for the worst-case scenario. Hopefully, solutions can be found immediately. Soon, Rogers will have no choice but to carry the Onesoccer channel on cable after losing their appeal at the CRTC. Exposure was the league biggest problem until this point. Canada were the better team and worthy of the win. That game was a "must not lose" for both teams. Get the win against Qatar and you're in good shape.
Today Canada's match looked more like a match from the 1980s than a modern soccer match. Canada may well advance but it will take them playing a LOT better in the remaining matches as they will meet at least one and probably two teams that play modern soccer instead of the antiquated "kick and chase" they played today. I do not really think they are better than Qatar but neither are they worse. But Qatar will not be playing the "kick and chase" soccer we saw today so Canada will have to actually play soccer to win. Another draw is not even remotely out of the question. Unless the USA totally chokes later, which cannot be easily dismissed, it looks like Canada is the weakest of the host nations. In spite of the card fiasco yesterday either the USA or Mexico look to be the best of the hosts.

True, this draw will make things 'interesting' in this group. I thought the subs were really effective, but should have been made at the half (easy for me to say in hindsight, I know). It was pretty clear that Bosnia has an excellent defense and was going into lock-down to preserve a 1-0 win. Larin could have been put in earlier than 76' and looks so impressive at age 31. Very entertaining second half, though. Thought we were about to have a Harald Schumacher moment, when Vasiji came out on Oluwaseyi! And how about Kolasinac's miraculous save after Laryea had Vasiji smoked! WHY the Hell couldn't Krejci react that way for the Czechs last night?!?! He could at least have TRIED to make a sliding attempt to sweep In-beom's trickling chipshot from the goal line. Kinda takes the gloss off of Krejci's earlier goal...
This was the game Canada needed to win but could not afford to lose. The finishing was terrible and even their goal was a deflection. I expected something different. Maybe they will settle now and start playing better.
This was a must NOT lose game. The MUST WIN game is Qatar. Then at 4 points, they should be fine even if they lose to Switzerland
Tani's lack of finishing strikes again. David still hasn't found his form. I didn't forsee Larin saving the day. The main thing is we didn't lose, but we will need to play much better in the future. Ruthless finishing is often what separates the elite teams in the world, and it seems that we just don't have it.
For a non-contender, you have a pretty strong set of attackers. It was not a good game, but you have a really easy group, and you are going to get through. Which is not meant to denigrate, but rather, enjoy the ride! World Cup groups are a bit different now in the 48 team era, but they've always been a grind. The US has only won it's group once in the modern era, and has never won 2 games in a group. In 1994 we went through as a third place team; in 2002 we needed some luck and made the quarters. It's survive and advance and Canada will.
Switzerland wasted even more chances than Canada usually does to draw Qatar 1-1. That really makes things interesting.
I even wonder how Qatar qualified out of Asia. They look extremely poor in possession and do not seem to actually have anyone that can play decent soccer. The Swiss were a little better but not much but their defense does look better until the took a nap late in the match. Canada should be able to beat either of the remaining teams but Canada does have this annoying ability to play down to the oponinant. I still think Canada is the weakest of the hosts but that really doe not matter much as their group has three othe pretty bad teams. No one in this group should count on being one of the best thirds but the group is so weak that every team could end up with 3 points from three draws. I could be wrong about the group but the first matches really make me think there is near zero quality anyplace in the group. I think this group is the direct result of the expanded field and there still could be an even weaker group because so many really weak teams have been added to make the expanded field work. I'm looking forward to the knockouts when better soccer will, probably, be played.
This group sucks. Paraguay would be the best team in it (so far. I didn’t watch European qualifying so I don’t know Switzerland, but they were mushy soft. Their ranking suggests they have a lot more to give.)
