I wonder how this Davies/Alaba situation plays out long term. Obviously they were completely dominant but, the one weakness Bayern had was the space behind Davies and Alaba. Obviously Davies at LB and Alaba at CB was part of the back 4 that went on that ridiculous run in the Bundesliga. But, do you want Alaba as a CB full time when he is not that good in the air and he can not consistently make those overlapping run he is know for when he plays LB. And they have an 80 million CB in Hernandez is he going to just be a squad player now?

Ultimately, I'd like to see Davies getting opportunities at LM which is his natural/preferred spot.

They did play him there on few ocassions but Bayern is so stack right now

I personally don't like it when they call him the best LB in the world. He needs to be humbled to correct his flaws. It's easy to shrug away losing for Canada when you win trophies at Bayern. He carries the same flaws at both places but would you want to pass this guy off?

Atiba Hutchinson resigns as captain of Besiktas. He would be a valuable asset to the National Team of he chooses to join the WCQ campaign one last time

Jonathan David scores his first goal in France with Lille in a friendly against Brest

Interestingly enough, seems that Fox Sports quietly purchased the rights to some of the CPL games https://www.ontvtonight.com/guide/listings/channel/690446261/fox-sports-2.html?dt=2020-08-18

    Well true...
...but the dynamic was a bit different. Mbappé started this match. *Edit Also DiMaria.
But as I said this could be their year.

On social media on this side of the border, we found interesting all the emphasis on the "Brooklyn-born" line from US medias despite moving to Haiti only 3 months after being born until he was 6.

It was interesting but yeah, didn't know that Weah was born there too

Weah is Brooklyn through and through. He spent his whole life there before joining PSG except for a short period in Florida.

    There's a lot of skepticism.

By the way..........................is Odunze Canada eligible? I've always assumed so.

Canada's path to the 2022 World Cup

I wouldn't be surprised if we let Euro base players stay at their clubs for this round

    Group B
    • Canada
    • Suriname
    • Bermuda
    • Cayman Islands
    • Aruba
If we win the group we will face the winner of group E in the 2nd round:

    Group E
    • Haiti
    • Nicaragua
    • Belize
    • St. Lucia
    • Turks and Caicos Islands
    Schedule
October 8 - Canada vs. Bermuda
October 11 - Cayman Islands vs. Canada
November 14 - Aruba vs Canada
November 17 - Canada vs. Suriname

Oh...................Haiti, you're friends from the Gold Cup may await.
You could have certainly gotten a worse draw than Haiti (possibly) in that 2nd round.
Panama is always a hard team in games that matter. Nice to avoid them at this stage.

Alphonso Davies and Bayern Munich defeats Lyon and advance to Champions League finals against PSG. Lyon definitely went for Davies the most often on the counter attack

He could get another one at KF Tirana of Albania. If Red Star Belgrade/Crvena Zvezda win, they will be seeded in Qualifying Round 3. The draw will be on August 31, and Qualifying Round 3 will be on September 15 and 16, which is three weeks after Qualifying Round 2. Because the qualifying rounds started later, they only have one leg. The Playoff Round will have two legs on the two weeks after Qualifying Round 3.

20 years old keeper Axel Desjardins moves up to Serie A with Spezio Calcio. Hoping he will work hard to earn opportunities in the top Italian tier.

Hoping to see him with the Canadian team for the Olympics qualifiers

He'd be the first Canadian to play in the UCL final, and to win it.
