I was thinking of trying this format Abroad Alphonso Davies and Bayern Munich wins the Domestic Cup. He's having a great impact at the club who are having better results since he joined. LB Sam Adekugbe got a red card after 2 yellows in a draw in Norway. It is said that he will work for Besiktas after he retires. He said that MLS clubs were interested but weren't willing to pay him nearly close to his actual value which he took as an insult. Besiktas are within reach to Europa League qualification. CF Cyle Larin is back at Besiktas after his loan in Belgium ended. Zulte Waregem are struggling financially but Royal Antwerp is said to be in the race to sign him who will play Europa League next season. CB Doneil Henry played 90 for Suwon Bluewings in a 3-3 draw against Seoul CF Charles-Andres Brym loan to Belgium's side Royal Excel Mouscron has been confirmed by Lille. The young striker already has 1 goal with Canada. Canada The CSA has planned to hold the 2020 Canadian Championship this fall with only the 3 MLS clubs and 8 CPL clubs. The winner will represent Canada at the CONCACAF Champions League. The Canadian Premier League is still working on a tournament for this summer with talks of a fall season. Pacific FC took over an existing academy on Vancouver Island. This will provide a direct path from U13 to the 1st club. They are also taking over the women side. CPL Champions Forge FC were suppose to compete in CONCACAF League July 28, but the tournament was delayed. Preliminary talks have begun to work on a blueprint for a Division 2 in Canada. Existing clubs and prospective investors are interested since they are in markets that may prove to small for CPL. This would league to an eventual promotion/relegation pyramid managed and owned by CPL.
Phonzie and Jonathan Davis are the faces, but there’s a groundswell of interest in Canadian players. There is no other market *in the world* like it. A 1st world, relatively untapped source of top-tier talents.https://t.co/y24y7K6Esr— J.J. Adams (@TheRealJJAdams) July 5, 2020

All I could find is that West Ham United wanted to acquire him but Besiktas refused to sell him West Ham United fail with offer for Bestikas's Atiba Hutchinson https://www.sportsmole.co.uk/footba...st-ham-fail-with-hutchinson-offer_275252.html This is what I find amusing with some posters here, especially those who talk like they know football but their posts exposes how little they actually know. A player who hasn't play in EPL doesn't mean that they are incapable or aren't that level. Besiktas is a recurring Champions League & Europa participants something that West Ham isn't. Lots of players goes for these clubs instead of playing for mid table or bottom table teams in stronger leagues This is why nobody knew about Scott Arfield until they saw him boss the midfield in the 1st game. They just look at "where he's playing now" and make conclusions. Arfield was an EPL starter at Burnley who wanted to keep him. Going to Rangers makes sense for him as they are a high level team and play Europa football, something that Burnley wasn't doing.
Okay but EPL is the big time compared to playing in Turkey so what is your point? If you play in England, that is how you know you have truly made it.
it's impressive his success in Turkey but it's fair to wonder if he might have done well for West Ham though I wonder European matches in a mid-tier league for a big club fighting for titles for playing in the best league in the world albeit for a mid-table club
We all know that but players have different ways to look at it. If it was this simple, why did Arfield leave Burnley for Rangers? European competition was important to him. Hutchinson wanted to play EPL and West Ham believed he could at that time. It's a shame that Besiktas refused to sell but with his performances in Champions League, I have no doubt he could. My point is that it's not always that simple that "all players wants to play in the best league". There are other factors such as money, the club itself, of course the league, opportunities and European competition. Milan Borjan was offered contracts in better league than Serbia but opted to stay at Red Star. That team goes to Champions League almost yearly so that made his choice easier...Champions League team or mid bottom table team in a stronger league with no chance at European competition? Proving my point are people posting that somehow, Borjan isn't a strong keeper because he isn't playing in Bundesliga like their keeper and I'm like "yeah but he blanks Liverpool and has to face juggernauts clubs such as PSG and Bayern and he's usually left to fend for himself in those games" How is Borjan weaker? That's my point!
Herdman’s patient approach lead to Tabla windfall for Canada https://www.sportsnet.ca/soccer/herdmans-patient-approach-lead-tabla-windfall-canada/ What’s especially promising for Canadian soccer fans is that Herdman isn’t resting on his laurels, and has put together a list of other youngsters who like Tabla could represent other countries, and drafted a specific strategy for each player to convince them to play for Canada. Herdman didn’t offer any specific names, but hinted that Ferdi Kadioglu is someone who is on his radar. Kadioglu is a 19-year-old Dutch midfielder who recently signed with Turkish side Fenerbahce. He’s played for the Netherlands at youth level, but hasn’t been capped by the Dutch senior team. Kadioglu is eligible to play for Canada because his mother was born here.
Liille made an offer matching the original asking price from Gent at 25M Euros for Jonathan David. I know Gent is now asking 30M L’Equipe is reporting that Lille has made a 25 Million Euro offer for Jonathan David. Via @GlassCityFC https://t.co/3MaNrrdrkm— Canucks Abroad (@Canucks_Abroad) July 7, 2020 According to the article, Gent wants between 30M-35M hoping for a bidding war. Also, David was adamant in playing in Germany but it is said that he's liking the idea of playing for Lille in France
Mohamed Bouhafsi from RMC Sport, a tier 1 reporter, is running with the story as well. Suggests that David has already agreed to personal terms with Lilles and it's down to both clubs agreeing on a fee. More than most of the other clubs he's been linked to, this is actually an excellent move in terms of his development, with him getting legit chances for plenty of PT almost right away.
Canada is likely to experience what the US has. Untapped land mass where kids aren't on pro contracts so Euro clubs will be able to bring them over at 16-18. Just like Europe is combing our youth ranks for the next Pulisic, they'll do the same looking for the next Davies.
About 65 million Euro, I think. So, yes, transfermarkt, which is pretty crap, thinks he's gotten less valuable. Yawn.
That's how Gent signed Jonathan David virtually for nothing. He was playing amateur in Ottawa and once the CSA found him, Vancouver Whitecaps wanted to sign him but he was adamant in signing in Europe. Canada always had good academies capable of developing talents, the problem has been that unless someone was exceptional, MLS teams and the CSA weren't looking outside of the MLS multiple academies all over the place. (Politics) With the CPL partnering with existing academies instead of starting their own to compete against them while they have little to no expertise, those good players that we used to miss and potentially great talents will be found and go to CPL to then be resold a higher price. For year 1 of the league, I could say that 3 teams either broke even or turned a profit. The 1 team we know how their finances looked like lost only $211k, hence the massive incentive to find talent, develop them in CPL and sell. With CPL having a seat at the CSA, their influence will keep growing and the other academies won't be ignored anymore,

It has virtually no meaning. In terms of value in this 2020 season, I'd put Davies and Raul Jimenez ahead of Pulisic. If Christian had played the full season at Chelsea like he is now, then it would be a different story. In reality, this is what matters.........................
