I went to see Robert Randolph & the Family Band last night. I had never heard them and I went because my brother got free tickets. I have been to many, many concerts and that show was easily in the top 5. My brother who has been to more than me said it was probably his #1. I can't vouch for his cds but if you get the chance to see him live....do it!

I guess it was the Rollins Band performing all the Black Flag stuff at the 9:30 Club this past summer.

    Korn @ CBGB's a couple weeks ago.

I went for the spectacle of it all and actually enjoyed it. Thankfully, I got to see it from the safety of the soundboard, as the meatheads and white cappers were in full force in front of the stage.

    Fieldy's a Galaxy fan.

Ben Folds and his paino at the College of William and Mary. He did a really long set at our ampitheatre on a beautiful day with just him and his paino. It was really something to see.

A month or two before that, I saw Flogging Molly up in what was the best live show I have ever seen. They played almost non-stop for 2 hours and since it was in a club with about 7-600 people it made it all the more better.

Yes, the Robert Randolph show was off the scale awesome, and I've seen over 500 shows probably.

If you're going to check out a record, I'd get Live at the Wetlands which is better than his studio album.

Here's the poster from last night's show.

That man plays harder and performs with more energy than anybody I've ever seen.

I almost went to that show, and I wish I had, because I've never seen Killing Joke.

The last show I went to was the Jayhawks at the 9:30 Club a couple months ago.

I don't get out much, either.

Metric at the Troubador. Late October. I'm unemployed and broke, so I've been a shut-in for a while.

Placebo at the Metropolis (Montreal), with stellastar* opening.

Placebo is one of the few bands that I still get excited about watching live. I also wouldn't mind watching stellastar* live again. I heard they are doing a North American tour this Spring, which is good news for me. :)

aside from various (and usually wretched) bar bands, I guess the last "big" concert was ...er...ok I guess I only ever go see wretched bar bands. Sorry. Last one of those was a pretty decent Reggae band at The Big Easy in Portland (ME)...pretty good, and I cant remember their name. they sounded a bit like John Brown's Body. My then girlfriend now fiance wanted to take me to Phish up in Slimestone this summer, we almost broke up over that. You think I jest. Ok, I do. But it was bad.

Last Concert: New Year's Eve -- The Long Winters and the Decemberists.

Next Concert: Jan 31 -- The Shins and the Decemberists.

I don't even really like the Decemberists. But I really like The Long Winters and The Shins!
