I don't play footie at a competitive level, so I can't judge how effective it is. I do know that there are enough American football players with those breathe-right strips over their noses, and enough baseball/football players with that black gunk under their eyes to reduce glare from the sun, so I guess some greasy Vicks couldn't hurt. Even if it's only psychological, it hasn't hurt us thus far. The only I want to know is, do the players (or at least the ones that use Vapo-Rub) get a new kit every game due to the amount of Vicks grease that builds up, or do they keep schlacking more and more on, so that it's almost an active culture by the time the season ends? If they do kit another kit every game (or every month or whatever), how can I get my hands on one of those babies? Boy, this certainly is one of the more enlightening threads I've been a part of since joining BS. ha, ha, ha.
I would expect that they get a new shirt for each game. Don't know where you can get one, although Arsenal could raise a lot of money for charities by auctioning them off. Who wouldn't be willing to shell out for an honest-to-goodness match-worn TH14 shirt? Or aren't Brits as into that as Yanks are? Interesting point raised on another thread - next season, Arsenal gets a new kit. All indications are that it will have a centered crest, like Liverpool's. Does that mean the lads'll be smearing the Vapo-rub over the club crest? I'm surprised that Arsene wouldn't veto something that could interfere with the team, in fact or in their minds.
