I had heard (via Marc Connolly with ESPN) that WUSA was looking at a paired down version for 2004 before a full revamping for 2005, but nothing since. (The original article came out in Nov/Dec). Anyone heard anything to confirm, and has anyone heard anything about whether San Diego would be invovled? I would hope that if they did a small tournament-type thing, they would spread the games out to use all eight venues... Doing it as a double-header set in each venue would work to keep the presence and visibility up, but keep travel and other costs down.
