everyone is calling them chelsea rejects

ken bates is taking them to the cleaners.

dennis wise is taking them down a lower division.

gus poyet is taking them for everything he can get.

tore andre flo is just taking the piss out of them.

they don't own their ground they don't have no fans.

do you think it's their fault or do you feel sorry for them?

should all the other clubs try and come to their rescue?

    what do you think?

Couldn't happen to a more deserving club.

Kind of appropriate that shit goes down the toilet.

funny that they are called Chelsea rejects. They are what Chelsea should have become if Abramovich never took them over.

I'd hardly say they've got no fans.

31,000 showed up yesterday, that's a pretty incredible attendance for a team that's being relegated from the Championship.

Wise Wise whatever you have done
You've taken Leeds to Division One
And you won't win a cup and you won't win a Shield
'Cos next season you're playing Huddersfield

    Your comment is slightly misleading.

I agree that 31,000 is a good crowd, but Leeds average this season is 21,000.

Also when you consider that Leeds is the biggest city in Europe with one club then its an abysmal crowd.

If Manchester had one club and had a win or bust match in the Championship I'd guess the crowd would be about 100,000, same in Liverpool.

If Sheffield had one team and were struggling they would easily average over 50,000.

Also when you consider the massive population surrounding Leeds then in that context the crowd of 31,000 is very poor. Although I agree Leeds will always have a massive potential it isn't really a football city.

Leeds has always been a rubgy town and apart from from about 30 years when they were a great club.
The record books show that from 1910 to 1960 Leeds has been a small to medium sized club, always bigger than Bradford but slightly behind Huddersfield Town.

Hilarious post. 31,000 for a (then) bottom end of the Championship club is an excellent crowd and as far from "abysmal" as can be.

    Ha!

Liverpool's two clubs combined don't average 100,000 at the moment!

rather late in the day, but that stat is hopeless wrong. The biggest city in europe with one team is St Petersburg, which has a population of 4.5 million.

Paris has a large metropolitan area, but what is actually the true city of Paris is much smaller.

Paris also has several lower division clubs.

Considering that there have been four crowds (as far as I know) in the Football League this season over 30,000 and three have been at Elland Road (the other in 3rd place would be the Sheff derby) you can hardly say we have no fans.

Also every other team who have been docked points have been relegated.

Yes its bad that clubs like Middlesbrough can take the piss over your crowd size, but it does say something about your support when you are embarrased on the odd occasion that they get a higher crowd than you.

If other clubs went from a Champions League semi-final to League One relegation favourites and looking like going out of business, would they still mantain their crowds? I think not. The club is being rebuilt on solid foundations, if we go up this season it will be a huge achievement, whether people like it or not. Maybe if Boro slump again we'll meet in the Championship and help fill the Riverside for you.
