    Isn't Edu still with Valencia?

Edu is still on Valencia's squad, but apparently hasn't played since last November. He hasn't been included in the squad for any of there games this year. He's had a grand total of 15 starts and 6 substitute appearances in the 2+ seasons since he left. I'm assuming he's been injured again?

I'm really a big fan of Flamini and would welcome a new contract, but I really don't see it happening with the signing of Diarra. I think Flamini will be able to move to a club like Roma or Fiorentina and really star. I just hope that Diarra and Denilson can match his work-rate.

Damn that sucks... I remember right after Edu left he injured his knee, I heard he returned to the first team in spring 06. Must be something serious.

Agreed. But on the other hand, Flamini has been perfectly healthy. Good call, Arsene.

Apart from that wrist that always seems busted. Perhaps he has alternative ways of releasing his frustration when he's on the bench :p

    ^ .. On the bench ?!

Anyway i think Flamini's become un-droppable now .. Atleast thats my opinion ..

Well he certainly brings something to the team...he seems like the "silent but deadly" enforcer. There's a reason they call him "Reno" :D

Would that mean we kick out Senderos and make Gilberto a perm. CB ?! A month ago, this would have been unthinkable ..

    Just quoting this.

Diaby has been bollocks the past two games whilst Flamini has constantly worked hard and done what is asked. he has proven he is dependable, can rise to the challenge when Gilberto is out and know it is going to be very hard for Arsene to drop him - which is exactly what we need.

Diaby does look rubbish wide on the left. I'm kinda hoping Wenger's spotted it by now, as every one else has. Maybe he's desperate to find alternative 'slots' for the central midfielders as we now have 7..

Re-signing Flamini might be a bit tough. I kind of think Flamini is going to be clammoring for a starting position, and I don't know that Arsene can give him that. But if Gilberto gets sold (what happened to all those rumors??), who knows, but Gilberto probably has another season or two left in the Prem. before he runs out of gas.

Flamini was in the Arse programme v Sevilla and he said he wants to stay. Can only be a good thing.

I'll just also laugh again at the dude who had a go at Flamini for doing too much. :p

yeah, Diaby is being wasted by Wenger doesn't have many options ATM. which stresses our need to buy a LM or hope Vela and/or Merida mature quickly.

Gibbs is still around, too. I think we'll see him more than a few times in the CC this year.

Like Jean Reno, from that one movie? (Speaking of movies about assassins, that new Viggo Mortenson movie looks pretty good.)

About Flamini, I really like the guy and supported him even during that weird season he had last year. But I don't think he's going to stay here long term. It's blindingly obvious that he's a future captain, just probably not at Arsenal. He's the rich man's Gilles Grimandi - versatile, hard, not silky, great team spirit, don't screw with him, a favorite whipping boy of some of the whinier fans. However, I think he's eminently replaceable. I agree Diaby hasn't looked so good on the left, but if you stick him in the middle of the pitch shielding the back four, I think he'll be great. And Gilberto's not quite dead yet, is he?

Maybe ignoring the [/sarcasm] tags, but just in case the team call him Reno in reference to Reno Gattuso, the Italian terrier.

It wasn't sarcasm. It's "Rino" Gattuso, not "Reno," so I had no idea who you were referring to. The movie I was thinking of was The Professional, with Natalie Portman.

That is what it is Miles. He's looking to slot in all those extra-midfielders. Our bench is unbalanced and I hope that doesn't hurt us as the season wears on.

Yeah Rick - I hope we keep Flamini. But Diarra coming in just might have ended that possibility. Every team needs a Flamini and we've got ours. So let's hope the boss and him can sit and have a chat and he can hang around. RB, LB, CM - not too many who can do that.

hleb and rosicky are out for derby match because of injuries. and what would happen to us if injury problem gets worse is unthinkable. for me flamini will be the answer coz he has proved himself that he can play as RB, LB, LM, RM, and CM/DM of course..
