I think we've discussed long enough the damage that has been done by this man. Now, there have been rumors abound about the future of the club. Some say there could be a light at the end of the tunnel. It is time to hope for the future. My questions are simple. If Hauptman sold right now (or over the winter or in the middle of next season): A. What would you do? (Season Tix, first Fire game in years, burning a final effigy?) B. What are your initial demands of the new guy? (Lewandowski-like money player?) C. What do you think it would mean for the club/city/community? (If it's built, will they come?) Please discuss. I think it could help the protest if we really talk about what we want out of the club and how this would change things.
I'd fly home from Boston wondering why I spent $500+ on the USOC Semi to watch the Fire play like complete and utter shit.
A. Season Tix, maybe. Depends on unknown factors. B. No rebrand. Treat fans/supporters as you want to be treated. Show a commitment to excellence in all things. C. Depends on the level of commitment.
If sold, and that's a big if, my money is on the team being moved. Likely candidates include St. Louis and Cincinnati. So to answer your questions: Go Cubs!
This. Show me some deficit spending before I and mine invest mind and money. If you're business savvy, you should factor that into your purchase price from Hauptmann, or enlist the league to subsidize you due to their having stood idly by while Hauptless scorched and salted the earth around the Great Lakes.
To me it would feel like an expansion team. They would have to reel me in by doing everything right like the first Fire.
For me the bar is set kind of low. As long as the new owners respect Tradition, Honor, and Passion, then I would be willing to purchase season tickets again. If the new owners decide to rebrand and make massive changes, then I would wait until they prove what they are doing is to my liking and enjoyment.
