...as a homeless man preaching against consumerism and performing miracles among the country's outcasts who then follow him? Would christians especially the evangelicals accept him?

Some did, see David Koresh. Of course, his "miracles" was his ability to spread his seed of life into teenage women and the wives of married men. Funny, their vote counts the same as mine.

He wouldn't be blond and blue-eyed. He would be a homeless, middle eastern man. I'll leave it at that.

...as a President preaching against immorality and advancing anti-terrorism and global security among the country's citizens who then follow him!

Of course not but many westerners especially evangelicals still think Christ was blonde and blue-eyed.

My idea for this thread was from a short article several years ago about an upcoming comic book about Christ appearing as a homeless man and the Anti-Christ as a well-respected Donald Trump type. Has anyone read it?

Read the The Grand Inquisitor story in Dostoevsky's "The Brother Karamazov".

Jesus would need a constitutional amendment to be eligible for the White House.

In any case, his "turn the other cheek" comment will be taken out of context and he will face the wrath of security moms and the military. But the final nail in the coffin will be a damning TV ad by a group that bills itself as Last Supper Attendees For Truth, which, among other things, claims Jesus was a bad tipper.

If he follows the same pattern as last time, he is unlikely to run into many Christians. He would be born in the West Bank and would be hated by both the Israelis or the Palestinians for preaching peace and forgiveness. He probably wouldn't even make the news and would be killed by the palestinian militants, or maybe by the Isreali army.

Actually to match historical context he would appear in the u.s. or american territory because the u.s. is the closest thing to the roman empire.

Since when do you have to have blond hair and blue eyes to be hot?

Unfortunately the aryan ideal of blue eyes and blond hair is still part of the western consciousness.
