Now that our consensus punching-bag is out the door, what Freedom player do you dislike most now?

    My vote goes for Skylar.

    Several reasons why...

    1) Two seasons ago we were in Summer's watching two WUSA games on the TV's that get bad reception. Skylar comes in with carryout from another restaurant. Not that there is anything wrong with that considering the food at Summer's sucks but I just found that odd.

    2) Her latest journal entry on the Freedom site. All that time and she has nothing else to write about?

    3) She is too cute. She reminds me of the current climbing wall manager at the downtown Boise YMCA. Too much cute leads to annoying.

    :D:D

    I MISS ANN COOK!!!!

I would have to say Gerardo. While she does have a decent shot, she does not work hard, she is slow, and is not the type of player to give a spark off the bench.

Mia, I know she is too easy to bash and she puts up with a lot but she is just not a very nice person to the fans unless cameras are on. (In my experience)

Gao. Why? Because she's from Communist China.

LOL. Not really. I don't like her because I'm still holding a grudge about the first 120 minutes of the WWC final.

What? We cannot keep picking on Milburn?

No. I am just kidding. I am sure she is a nice person - She just was not what the Freedom needed.

That won't last for long! Especially if she returns to top form. Her infectious personality will win you over. I know it won me over here in NY and I can't tell you how sad I am to see her go. But then, it's one more reason for me to love the Freedom. (Like I needed any...)

    :)

  8. :lol Why the hatefest? What a funny, yet sad, idea for a poll. Oh well. Just a survey, I guess.

Personally, I find a lot of the people on the team to be rather charming.

I happen to like the Littles! But then I like cute; it doesn't annoy me, as long as it's not fabricated. I like that trait especially when measured against the on-field alter ego of tough-as-nails!

I also like Wambach a lot. She's an awesome, aggressive, creative player, and she was fun to listen to when PAX would listen in on what the players were saying on the field. She obviously has lots of fun with soccer, even when frustrated.

I'm not sure what to make of Hamm. Sometimes, she is kind of cold when being interviewed. But quite frankly, I'd be rather burnt out on fans if I were her. Especially because her bandwagon has gotten so huge that it consists of some fans who "like" Hamm just because someone else who is "cool" likes her. Some fans don't seem to care about her, but rather her autograph.

Frankly, when I was at the US/Scotland match last year in Columbus, she appeared pretty nice. She seemed relaxed and smiley. It kind of changed my preconception of her.

So, sorry. Guess I can't vote. I haven't yet found a Freedom player I hate. But I promise I'll look extra hard this year on PAX (or whoever will carry matches this year).

Note the first choice is 'No one - Like them all' (and it had a slight lead last I checked)

  10. Oops! lol

    That changes things.

Who was the "consensus punching bag"?

I bet you didn't said that when Gerardo took your team to the FC Final last year.

She scored the golden goal against my beloved Charge!

Jacqui Little did most of the work. All Mo had to do was knock it into an open net. And, strictly speaking, it wasn't a "golden goal."

With Milburn and the Brazillians gone, there's no one I dislike anymore. What's a Fool to do? ;)

I have to agree with SCF on this one. Yes. Monica Gerardo scored the goal. No. She does not deserve most of the credit. She was in the right place at the right time. Jacqui Little worked hard for the assist. I think she deserves the bulk of the credit.

  18. Ok, I am just wondering...why the heck is Zimny annoying? she is so sweet!!! i'm just confused about this one.....

Well, it's not unreasonable to blame her for at least two goals last season, including one that effectively cost the Freedom the regular-season championship and a home playoff game. (But then you can blame Mia for that, too, for missing a PK in the same game.) Considering she didn't play that many minutes, it's not good stuff to have on your resume.

There is a God! :D With all the bonehead moves NY likes to make, I thought for sure Milburn would be wearing a Power jersey!

  23. I'm so glad they cut Milburn too!! NY is one of my fave teams...and now that they cut milburn...they for sure have a great chance on going far!

She had some tough times last year for medical reasons, and I think she deserves another chance.
