Here's my collection. I have a few out on loan - 10 to 15 or so - but other than that, I think this is complete.
I have to say I'm pretty shocked you have Friends, but what do I know? Is DVD aficionado just a good way to keep up with your stuff? Besides keeping a listing are there any other helplful features?
I use a similar program - DVD Profiler. It's an actual download and install on your PC. I use CueCat to scan in the barcodes on the discs as I acquire them, and then the program automagically looks them up in the database. I can see what movies I own that have a certain actor, director, grip, genre, etc etc. I can also print out catalog sheets for visitors to browse thru rather than staring at shelves of cases. It's pretty sweet.
I used to use DVD Profiler, but they kept crashing when I wanted to do stuff and it was a real pain in the ass to load movies, since you have to do them one at a time and it's a time consuming process. I never heard of the aficianado one till I looked at Andy_B's link. I gotta say, it's sooooo much nicer than Profiler. I loaded all my DVDs on in about ten minutes. You can load up to 100 at a time. SInce I have less than 200, it only took me a coulpe of sends and they were on. You just type in the movie, check the box of the edition you own, and hit send. So easy. As for Friends, I bought it for AFLette for Christmas one year. I have a lot of AFLette-friendly things in there. I try to get her one she'll like for every four or so I buy for myself.
Hmm. Not my experience. I got a huge stack of discs for X-mas, I just scanned the barcode and hit "Add". I could see how it might suck without a barcode scanner, tho.
