What Does Dc United Do Now ?

Now that the DC UNITED are playing better it will difficult to pick the best lineup? When all players are available how will coach fit in Earnie stewart? What two players will start at the forward position? Wow does coach Hudson have tough decisions to make! Does Stewart play and Kovalenko get benched ? My lineup for the march to the playoffs would be F Curtis F Quarantino M Stewart M Etcheverry M Convey M Olsen M Nelson D prideaux D Petke D Ivanov G Rimando My three subs would be: Stoitchkov,Eskandarian and Kovalenko Any thoughts or opinions?

We've won only 2 of 10 games, and both of those were at home. I don't know that we've really found anything yet. I'd say the jury's still out. But one thing is clear, this team needs a target forward. When Curtis plays we kinda have one, in that he'll push forward and play physically in the box. He can hold the ball and fights for everything.

I'd say that Curtis or Esky should be there at all times, and that the second forward will likely be someone who plays off of them, be it Stoichkov, Stewart or Santino. Clearly all of them will play, with both Stewart and Santino able to get time in midfield as well. My guess is that we'll see this:

    -----------Curtis--------Santino------------

    ---------------Convey----------------------
    Dema-----------------Etch------------Olsen
    ---------------Nelsen----------------------

    -------Ivanov-----Petke-----Prideaux-------

Subs would be Hristo and Esky.

Digital, it's also fair to say we've only lost 3 of 10..

I agree, and if we can hold onto tino for next season, use tino and alecko side by side up top.

Our fowards have been preforming better the last couple of games but I'm pretty sure Ray is going to bring in a foward, and I think theres no argument that he would start. Thats when its going to get really crowded and when were probably going to have to let one or two fowards go, Stoich and Tino/Curtis/Q2/Stewart?

We have the best defense in the league. All we have to do is put a few more in the net and we'll make the playoffs. Anything else is gravy.

I'd say when Earnie gets back, he keeps David company. :)

If you're not getting it done, then you don't get to play... it's really as easy as that. I'm not so sure what is more difficult, the decisions that have to be made, or the decisions that have to be accepted.

Knowing that Earnie is his own worst critic, then he definitely knows that he's not playing well for United. He is much better than he has played for us, but it's almost like he's they only person wearing a tux at a casual party, i.e., he just doesn't fit in... lose the bow tie, cumberbun, and cuflinks, loosen up a bit, relax, and you'll get there

Earnie as trade bait... I doubt the league would let us do that. His family just moved here from Holland. He picked DC because we said we wanted him. Now, for us to change our mind and say, "adios", just wouldn't be kosher and DC is a classier organization in my opinion.

I think Tino has probably the most value, but I would hate to see him leave. I want to see him succeed wearing the Black-and-Red.

But what type of trade are we looking at. What do we need... Left winger... more experienced striker... depth at D Mid... if it's just to clear out our forward slots, would we trade for draft picks?

Go with the lineup that's hot. If these same guys play well next week against NE, I'd say stick with them until injuries and callups force changes. If that means some big names sit on the bench, so be it. More firepower to bring in late in the game.
