Is he a quality keeper? I have only seen him play a couple of times and he does not look as good as other EPL keepers. Against Aston Villa, Hendrie scored a goal because it seemed that Lehmann was in a bad position although it was a good strike. Any transfers coming in that might take his spot?

I believe that Lehman is a quality keeper at best. On the league level, he is one of the best in the league. But in Europe, he never seems too comfortable. The worst was last year's howler against Chelski. Maybe Wenger might want to try Aluminia (sp), strictly on a trial basis.

He gets out of position far too much. That is his big weakness IMO. That and the fact that he get indecisive sometimes.

This is exactly it. One of the best shot stoppers in the game but he has always been a "sweeper keeper", and seeing as NO ONE in this country plays a sweeper (that I know of) he does get himself into some dangerous spots.

He also doesnt have Seamans inate penalty stopping skills. I have confidence in him but you know with Seaman even penalties wern't that scary...with Lehman you know hes gonna concede...

Besides isnt he the German number 2, behind Kahn? Good enough for me

For chris'sakes, are you trying to blame him for today? Try Nosferatu if you want to know who cost us 2 points, not Lehmann

As much as I dislike Billy Corrigan/Nosferatu I can't blame him for trying to block it. If he had hair it might have gone in a different direction.

Jens did good tonight. He had the air covered and the goal covered. That's all you can ask from our crazy German friend.

Since it was voting day I'll answer this politically. Jens is good sometimes and not so good at others. :)

Actually I like The Mad German. He has controlled the temper and still needs a little work in the air, but displays confidence on the field and overall has performed well.

was this directed at me coach?

lehmann had nothing to do w/tonights loss... i thought this was a general question~ and i dont even blame cygan's poor luck... managing 1 dodgy PK vs a lesser team at home is just pathetic.. i somewhat blame wenger and the players are of course responsible~

1 goal in a home CL match is horrible with the talent that is on the pitch

No, not you, the person who started this thread.

I already knew your position on Lehmann. It's pretty much the same as your position on Bush, right? ;)

I thought it was against the law to threaten the life of the president??!?! Don't let the cyber police catch you.

Oh, and Lehmann should be shot with balls of his own shite.

they showd an interview of lehmann after the game yesterday on german tv.
questioned how he rates his image in england after various papers calld him calamity jens etc. he remained silent and stared at the german interviewer for like 20 seconds w/o blinkin. i thought he would kill him :D

I'm no threat to the President. How could I be miffed with a guy from Texas? I mean, phishy listens to Phish, the Dead, partakes in the herb, and his political views are easily more liberal than mine, but he's a fellow Texan so you know he's a good egg deep down inside. ;)

    (Sorry, phishy. :D)

I like him two, but he has dissapointed me to many times. Was did he make these kinds of mistakes when he was playing in Germany?

absolutely. regarding mistakes and loosing his temper he hasnt changed. whats missing are the spectacular saves he made from time to time. the ones that made him nr.2 behind kahn.
aaw...i still remeber when he was sent off for attacking his own teammate amoroso...:)
btw. i think kahn and lehmann are putting way too much pressure on themselfes wich eventually leads to some mistakes.
