Well they both crack pretty well dont they? Yes it's corny, but hey, they're out of the CL and I'm happy! Welcome to the 1 trophy world suckers hahahahahaaaaaa...
Hey, do me a favor.... you and your dozen eggs check the table for me, will ya, how is it lookin up at us! F!CK OFF
To think you idiots were thinking about a trebble last week... serves you right.. the trebble is only for good teams... sod off you bastard!!!!!!!!!! We may lose the league, but we should not count our eggs before they crack
Well I for one, was not one to talk about the Treble, hell we may not win any trophies, I am realistic, I see how we have played, I love the Gunners, but our last two games it is obvious we have become winded. Don't go blaming all of us for the talk of a few people.
How do United fans feel about Lehmann's mistake today versus Howard's in that Porto match? I feel Lehmann's was a bit worse yet he'll probably not get the kind of roasting that Howard got since it wasn't the decisive goal. And over the season so far, Howard overall IMHO has looked no worse than him (considering the defenses in front of each). Now Howard has likely lost his spot while I'm doubting Lehmann will lose his own.
Now that the Arse have suffered 2 devistating losses in less than a week, I wouldn't put it past them to crumble completely and cough up the league title to Chelsea. Be still my heart!
I'd have to say that on the whole, Howard has looked better than Lehmann for most of the season. Howard has kept us in games and won games with his play, and has been very consistent. I wouldn't say he lost his spot, but as I have said in other posts, he is getting a long overdue, well-deserved break after playing almost constantly for over a year. I don't think most United fans are truly blaming Howard for that goal, since its not as if we were firing on all cylinders anyways. We knew we weren't going to win the CL this year, and if we had gone through, it would have pretty much been putting off the inevitable.
That's exactly your problem. You guys fire on all cylinders for months upon months, and that is what gives you your hefty position, but when the crunch time comes, you wither under the pressure. We're accustomed to hitting form at the crunch time, therefore when the truly big games come up we're fired up, whilst you're tired and downtrodden. Which do u prefer? Chase unbeaten records early on? Or hit form at the right time and win the games that truly count..
I see your point, but as much as our form has "dipped" in the last few matches, I hope you dont seriously think that your side will be able to catch us in the table, cause if thats what your saying, I just dont see it happening, Chelsea on the other hand, who knows...
We don't think we have much chance, but Chelsea is very possible. They are looking great right now, and mentioning Eriksson around Stamford Bridge right now is likely to be met with the response, "Sven who?". Arsenal were riding incredibly high just a few days ago, and in less than a week they have seen their treble dreams crumble to dust. For whatever reason, they were unable to maintain form, and have already lost two out of three prizes. If they're not careful, they could potentially fall to Chelsea, and complete one of the most dramatic collapses in the history of the English game. That thought has to be absolutely terrifying to Arsenal and their fans.
Hey was that a great game or what? If Arsenal is ever going to lose in the league they are going to do it vs liverpool. When I saw Lehman punch that ball right to lampard I immediately thought of Howards gaffe against Porto. At least timmy KIND OF turned it away from the goal. Whats his face from Porto at least had a fairly tough angle to score from. Lehman might as well have slapped the ball into the goal. Somewhere... David Seaman is smiling.
Mods: This thread needs an [R] on the title. (I think Motterman is on vacation in Florida right now.) And, as long as we're going to talk about results from yesterday... How about Real Madrid getting booted from the CL by Monaco? Guess they should have bought some defenders and kept Makalele.... And I thought the Arsenal-Chelsea game was a very entertaining one. Chelsea played better in the second half and deserved the victory.
