Shortly after Moyes took over as manager, he coined the phrase "The People's Club" during an interview regarding his thoughts about the club and the team. He used the phrase to show what it means to be at Everton and what it means to be an Evertonian: "This is the people's club in Liverpool... the people on the street support Everton and I hope to give them something to be proud of over the next few years."
