Places I would live in if not here (USA):

    1. Australia -- there is a lot to be said of a country shose number 2 patriot song is about a guy who steals a sheep and committs suicide rather than get arrested.

    2. Positano, on the Amalfi Coast -- if you have ever been there, you would understand.

    3. Zurich, Switzerand -- something about a lake in the middle of the moutains.

    4. Barcellona, Spain -- because it is Barcellona.

    5. Chaminoux, France -- I was just there on vacation.

The United States, the best place on earth, for at least another 200 years.

Lucerne is beautiful and safe. But you could find places like that in the US too, such as La Jolla.

    1. Israel (beautiful women, beaches, culture, civilization, schwarmas)

    2. Australia/New Zealand (seems like it might get a bit boring though)

    3. Holland (nice women, not a horrible climate, ocean, all of europe is right there, pot, things are happening, everyone speaks English).

    That's about it.

And if you ask any American that went to France for the Confederations Cup, you'll hear the exact same thing. We only spent time in Paris, Lyon, and St.Etienne, but the people there were nothing but wonderful to us. It was pretty easy to tell we were all American because lots of us had american flags.

Right now, i'm quite happy living in England, and Scandinavia is also a wonderful place to live. While it may be safer and "nicer" in England and Sweden, the USA will always be my home. I don't remember ever being treated poorly for being American in my over 8 years of living abroad.

Hmmm...if had to move i would choose Tibet and would kick the Chinese out of there and next i would conquer not only China but also Mongolia and finally when the end was near i would be happy because i knew i will reborn as Genghis Khan and conquer the rest of the world.........

Funny you should mention this because I've never had any problem. I'll ask the valets what their secret is.

La Jolla doesn't have the Sonnenberg though.

You might - well, no, you will run into a FIFA person from time to time, but don't let that spoil it for you.

Even then it's fine, as long as you don't brake.

EDIT - you might have to back over them and give them an extra pass to be sure. Those FIFA guys are pretty resilient.

I like it right where I'm at, but would choose the following.

Monterey, California (kayaking, scuba diving, running, biking)
    Lake Tahoe, California (skiing,hiking,biking)
Mendocino, Califonia (only a few months perhaps)
    Maui, Hawaii (swimming, scuba diving,biking)
    Jackson Hole, Wyoming (skiing, hiking)

    Vancover, Canada
    Switzerland (maybe)

Northern California is the place to live IMHO.

I used to vacation at my grandma's in Davis, CA when I was a kid. Lotsa happy memories of that place. Probably all unfounded. But I'd like to go back someday regardless.

It's nice, but it is no Luzern. Totally different kind of place...

Btw, we got beaches just like that here in Dubai.

I currently live in the country and the city that I want to live in.
After a couple of years my girlfriend and I are hopefully going to move back to Germany as I love it there, preferably to Berlin or Hamburg (in that order).

I have been living in Alberta for half a year and travelled the US. On holiday I have been to a lot of european countries.

And I know InTheNet knows shlt!

Yeah those pics don't really do it justice here. Some very nice streets with boutique shops and cafes they neglected to show. The street scene at night is what reminds me of Lucerne. The cafes, the nice shops that are well-lit all night long, no ugly security gates, no graffiti, safe and pleasant to walk around as late as you want. And both are right by the water (lucerne a lake, here a sea), which gives it a nice dreamy bleezy feel at night.

I guess in those pics they're to eager to show off the beaches. But there're miles and miles of beaches right nearby if you don't like the ones shown in those pics.

Should give it a try if you're ever near the San Diego area.
