    Good health....

Self-explanatory. No tortuous season-threatening injury. That's the most important thing.

1.Well, we already got one thing that I wanted and that was the permanent disappearance of the Duck.

    2. France reaching the knockout phrase of the World Cup.

    3. Charge winning Founders Cup III!

    4. Marinette Pichon as league leader in goals.

    5. Our new players contributing a lot. Scasna scoring 10 goals and assisting on at least 5. Arrington scoring a couple from the bench. Arrington will be great late in the game with the other team's defenders are tired from chasing around our other great forwards.

    6. A higher attendance average. Reaching 10,000 would be great but I can do with 9,000-9,500.

    7. Better TV Ratings.

    8. Finally, I fear, like saying the name of a certain Shakespeare play in a theatre, that a curse will be cast if I fully say what will follow. But I will hope that our wizard of Watford will have an injury-free and brilliant season. MVP would be nice too.

I think there's huge anticipation with all the talent the Charge possess.

This is the deepest team yet, even without Zhao.

Relish this team, this year, because we all know how fragile WUSA is, and the every chance to see these women play should be valued.

I'd say Misaki would be a developmental player.

The question is, are developmental players subject to being waived and picked up by other teams before being listed as developmental??

Misaki would be a player I'd jump on if she was made available.

But we don't know the rules governing this area yet.

true wusa is a kinder, gentler league where you can bend the rules and no one really complains...

I guess each team gets their special dispensation allocation moves each year...

one of these days, some one is gonna pull one which affect competitive balance...

right now, the makinen matter seems to be one the charge are being allowed to get away with...

whenever hoffmann arrives, I wonder if anything becomes of the green card matter, so just is ignored, and the charge get to have 5 "foreign" players...

some other team could then say well the charge have 5 and go out and get a 5th player themselves??

    One of these days?

What about the hawkins/spirit draft bait and switch...which i thought they really got away with murder on!

I'm confused by your reference to Hawkins and San Diego...

    Latham???

Now when the deal happens with Sinclair, then that affects balance...

Hawkins?? where did this enter the equation??

We can be PC and all that, but let's dare to dream, too. As in a parade after the securing of Philadelphia's first major pro sports title in 20 fooking years.

August 27, at the traditional start point; 20th and Market - east to City Hall, then right, left and right onto South Broad Street, down to Lincoln Financial Field where 65,000+ await to give the 2003 WUSA champion Charge the loudest and longest thank you note of their lives. After a night of celebration at Broad and Snyder, K&A, the Five Points, Frankford and Cottman, outside 800 Lancaster Avenue in Villanova, PA and a couple dozen other places to reintroduce to America the fact nobody throws a party for a sports champion like Philly does. :)

OK, so it's a pipe dream, but what the hey :D

I think the Charge are going to have to wait in line behind the 'Nova ladies b-ball team after tonight's game.

This better be the back page cover story tomorrow.

As for the 2003 Charge season, I don't have any wishes that haven't been stated already.

A Founders Cup III win, that 50 goal season we hoped for last year and no serious injuries.

Heck, I'll even toss my hat in the ring for "Let's get Scasna a green card!"

Uh, donut you realize the Flyers got TONY AMONTE! at the trading deadline. That will be the DN's headline tomorrow. Which means they'll get all the way to the *second* round of the playoffs before they get bounced...

    :D :p

Seriously, you're right. This is a no-brainer. And with all the impropriety that went on at 'Nova with the men's basketball team, there ought to be a celebration on-campus as I write this.

Bravi to the Wildcats. They played really well tonight. This better be top story on the sports page. A nice big photos of the team cheering. And the difference between the women's team and the men's team could not be better illustrated by this outstanding victory. No one mentioned anything about my wishes except for the attendances. So I assume that what I want is also what everyone else wants.

Sounds like there's some good kharma for woman at Villanova.

That's probably the moment of their sporting lives.

Hopefully, the joy exhibited last evening has a partner some time in August.

But I prefer the team performs to their talent level and take my chances there.

There are some days NOT meant to be your day, and hopefully the Charge don't encounter those.

    As to dreaming...

Each person makes them come true.

    what, no spring break??

San Diego will be better and have a good chance to compete for a playoff slot...

I wouldn't annoint them a definite play-off side quite yet.

next week weather is supposed to really be spring, so you guys should have had the break in February and we'd have missed all the snow and ice of the past month.

    Of a more immediate nature.....

Pichon vs. the USWNT at the Algarve Cup, somehow, someway. :)
