Why do you yet labor under the assumption that there is any sort of faint resemblance to competence in the USSF?

They sold the whole Spanish kit and English kaboodle to Telemundo.

Any other Cox customers out there who don't even get Telemundo as part of the "Paquete Latino"?

The home federation controls television rights to its home games. FMF sold the entire package of all home WCQs to Telemundo. ESPN has rights to all US home WCQs, and any road games it shows it buys one at a time.

The USSF has nothing to do with television rights to Mexico's home games.

Just a note to all y'all who are probably still whining about the game not being very widely shown in English - I watched half a game in CATALAN the other day (Espanyol - Liverpool), and it was still understandable. What's more, I still have no clue who plays for Espanyol. So I assume that if one knows the players' names, one should be fine if the game's on in Spanish.

Ummm... and what about those American fans that don't speak Spanish?

I'm sure I read somewhere around here that ESPN was going to show the game delayed at some point Wednesday night but now I can't find that post again.
So does anyone know if they are? And when? In HD?
I'm going to record the mun2 broadcast and watch it in the evening after work, so recording off ESPN that night is no big deal and I would MUCH rather watch it in HD!!

    Thanks,
    Rob

DirecTV has even sent out a message to all of its customers about the US/Mexico match being free on mun2 on August 12th.

Unfortunately, according to ESPN's official TV listings, the game is not listed to be broadcast at any point that day or evening. http://sports.espn.go.com/espntv/espnGuide Of course, ESPN has been known to change listings at the last minute. ;)

It's Retro Fan Day so that all the n00bs who picked up soccer after 2002 can feel what it was like to be a fan circa 1990

If you have Telemundo just use the SAP button and it will be in English. The free preview for DirecTV is channel 203

FYI, for all those who have to work while the game is on. I just looked it up and Mun2 will be showing a replay at 6:30 EDT. I wouldn't change the channel to it earlier than that though because the live broadcast doesn't end until 6 and there may be a post game show.
