What became of the golden generation?

    only a few remain
    Gil was the big disappointment to me

    Peixe had a couple good years, but age caught up with him

    it looks like Jorge Costa going to finish strong, its a matter of time before he pass's his spot to somebody else,

    Baia never played on the U20 World Cup, at the time he was already the starting goalkeeper for FC Porto, he couldn't afford losing his spot on the team

    They disappointed throughout. The big culmination was World Cup 2002. That was man-for-man the best Protugal team in decades. But tournament football does not always favor the teams with the best players. Some are still around for Euro 2004, but even winning that will come up short of the original expectations.

    in the Euro 2004, the following remain, Figo, Rui Costa and Fernando Couto, I can say they are the golden generation
