Plan A (VERY TENTATIVE): Drive out to Smith Rocks in central Oregon and do some rock climbing on Sunday and Monday (I can't get there earlier cuz of WUSA matches on the boob tube ). I've never climbed there before, but it's one of the sport climbing meccas of the US. My main concern is that I won't be able to find a camping spot that weekend seeing how it's gonna be super busy down there. Ugh. I don't have other backup plans yet. If worse comes to worse I'll just be a bum and do some climbing, hiking, and cycling around here.
Flying down to San Diego on Saturday, BBQ at my fiancee's parents' house on Sunday where I get to meet all of her aunts and uncles and cousins, flying back up to San Jose on Sunday night to go to the USA-Wales game on Monday.
leave saturday for chicago visit friends/avoid sister get drunk go to sleep go to ikea in shaumburg get drunk watch fire/rapids game get drunk go to sleep go home monday food will also be eaten.
probably drive up to montreal for the weekend with some buddies - although just recently discovered some crazy deal to London, ~500 bucks per person, including airfare and six nights hotel, very intriguing....
Going to my wife's best friend's wedding. I was going to go to the USA-Wales game, but her friend decided to get married that weekend so people could travel to see their wedding. How selfish is that? I mean really. Hijacking a three day weekend with a soccer game on it? That's just wrong.
Boy, tell me about it. One of my friends, a soccer fan whom I know from going to SJ games, is getting married and selfishly set the date for May 17 before the soccer schedule came out, so now we have to miss the Columbus @ SJ game on Saturday. I'm getting married next year, and I've already made my fiancee agree to only pick a date in the offseason.
I'm so happy there's a place in the world where my point of view is not only accepted, but encouraged.
My deck. But, if I have guests, I'll pull out my super cool, retro tablecloth with a map of the US on it.
yea my plans have changed...no more trip to cleveland <thank god> instead i will be playing wiffle beer on sunday, which means playing wiffle ball while getting drunker than a skunk. it gets real interesting as the day wears on...hitting people with the wiffle bats becomes the order of the day by say 5pm. other than that, maybe a kickaround here or there and some cooking out if the weather cooperates.
Picking up my best friend early Monday morning and heading out to The Chesapeake Bay for some stipper fishing. Hopefully we'll be done by early noon so we can hit The Red Eye dock bar for Happy Hour.
I know, man, I know. I had to miss the first two US games in Korea because of my cousins wedding. I actually tried to figure out what time I would get there if I left right from the ceremony to the airport and boarded the next flight. If everything went perfect and ran on time, I would have landed in Seoul during halftime of S. Korea-USA. I decided it wasn't worth it.
Clean house, watch Food Network marathons, and possibly venture out to buy the Kitchenaid Stand Mixer of my dreams.
just flew back from switzerland. heading out long island for a wedding tomorrow, and no plans for monday.
Ended up with no real travel, Friday night hike, Saturday ski (90 min. drive), Sunday play pickup soccer, today chill and clean around the house.
