Just trying to get current sentiment as I have not been following as much as I used to but am still excited by the potential. I fear Hong is going to always be the scapegoat of this campaign and his tactics are clearly archaic still. I’m not a fan of Hong and was against him going for this again. It was a desperate move But my biggest irk is the teams psychology which hasn’t changed much over the span of 30-40 years. People love to claim our fighting spirit which is true to an extent but we still have this inferiority complex against the giants that really impacts our play. The Brazil game bothered me a lot and still does. We seemed to play in fear and without confidence which leads to these implosive displays. Japan by contrast has gotten over this.
https://youtube.com/shorts/XUt55W028qY?si=FnlwXIUYHJmXMeSF Apologies im not up to date with the gossip but is this true? why is Korean social media filled with fake stories??
Many channels get shut down when reported. But they still make enough money before that happens. They usually create 10+ channels at the same time and spam gossip videos like that using AI. Some are extreme, spreading false rumors about celebrities and get sued. So many ppl still buy it tho. That's the problem lol.
World Cup Draw is this Friday all The 2026 World Cup draw will take place on Friday at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington , D.C. at 12 p.m. ET.
12/11 for applying for the lottery. Man.. I didnt know I need to get selected first to buy the tickets..
Ok I’m getting used to this new program we get: Winner of Ireland, Czech Republic, north Macedonia, Denmark not so bad. Man what is our affinity w Mexicans? So weird
We definitely should win the first match against one of those teams. Mexico is good, but don't underestimate the amount of pressure that they are under playing the group stage in Mexico. They are liable to draw against one of those teams opening the door for ROK to win the group.
chat gpt on scheduling of games after today’s draw The schedule of games for the 2026 FIFA World Cup is determined by FIFA in a separate process that occurs after the group stage draw, using specific criteria to optimize logistics and global viewership. The full schedule for the 2026 tournament will be officially revealed on Saturday, December 6, 2025. Unlike previous tournaments where the schedule might have been randomized concurrently with the draw, FIFA now uses a more strategic approach, a process called "match allocation" that takes into account a variety of factors: Matchups and Group Positions: The draw itself determines which teams will face each other in the group stage based on their assigned group position (e.g., Team A1 vs. Team A2). Geographic Placement and Travel:Matches are allocated to specific host cities and stadiums to minimize travel times for teams and fans within the multi-city, multi-national host region (USA, Canada, Mexico). Host Nation Guarantees: The three host nations (Mexico, Canada, and the United States) were already pre-assigned to specific groups and stadium clusters to ensure they play their initial games in their home countries. Global Television Audiences: Kick-off times are selected to ensure that major global audiences can watch games live during favorable local hours. Competitive Fairness: FIFA also considers competitive balance, placing top-ranked teams on opposite sides of the knockout round bracket to ensure they cannot meet until the semifinals, provided they win their respective groups. The full list of venues and kick-off times for all 104 matches will be announced in a live global broadcast from Washington, D.C. You can find more information about the process and event details on the official FIFA website.
If we can't get out of this group, it's all on HMB. It will be tough to travel to these areas. I dont see any direct flights from my state. smh.
Any of you gyopos going to Mexico? Im gonna try to go to a game or two If we place 2nd in our group, we'll be playing at Sofi Stadium in Los Angeles We would need to send him to N. Korea since 3rd place teams will reach knockouts. In this format, we would've reached knockouts in 2008. We were ranked 17th overall.
Funny how some posters here are happy with the draw. The fans of the other teams in the group are just as happy. So what does that tell you? Mex is actually a difficult, and maybe even a top 10-15, opponent that Kor often underestimates. At a minimum, Kor would need a win against South Af to even have a chance, but these two teams seem close to equal in ability overall.
I don’t think much of what the others say bc it seems like 60%-90% of their soccer population is ignorant AF depending on what region. The Mexicans are on the higher end of that spectrum. I appreciate Mexico but these are just facts. The only one they know is Son. South Africa is a wild card but they’ve shown quality in dominating the region this recent campaign This is the worse Mexican team in years. If it weren’t for home field advantage I’d say they’re as good as out of this tournament I’d reckon this is one of the most talented group we’ve fielded in a long while. I hope this team is able to sack up and not cower to hostile environments which has usually been the case. It’s going to be difficult to beat Mexico at home but this team can do it with or without Hong I think talisman Cho SG is going to be NT MVP. Maybe I’m hopeful but to me that guy is going to rise to the occasion. He’s had a rough couple years but he’s gotten through it through sheer will. He’s impressive
So the first game is against Denmark (most likely) in Guadalajara then Mexico also in Guadalajara Very relieved we aren’t playing Mexico at Azteca and Mexican summers are very similar to Korean summers
Despite the fact this Mexican side is not one of their finests (man, I miss Blanco!), their home advantage will be substantial. I will be surprised if they don't top the group. If Denmark wins a berth, I would give them a slight edge to come in 2nd. If not, then who advances along with Mexico will be anyone's guess.
The biggest hole in our current team is the defense. Kim Min-jae really needs a partner (or partners if Hong opts for a 3-back line) who can hold his own. And who can cover for KMJ's carelessness and adventurism. We still don't have quality wingbacks. Only real option on the right is Seol Young-woo. But on the left? Lee Tae-seok would be my choice but, god, I wish he has his dad's deft left foot and gangsta attitude.
