Dave Loggins (turned 73 on Nov 10th) - "Please Come to Boston" (1974)

Also wrote "Pieces of April" for Three Dog Night, in addition to songs for artists Kenny Rogers, Alabama, Reba McEntire, etc. In '84, he and Anne Murray had a hit with "No One Loves Me Like You Do", (which I barely remember).

Loggins also composed the theme music "Augusta" that is used on broadcasts of The Masters Golf Tournament (I guess they still use it).

Most of the above info I remembered, but went to Wikipedia to verify. (don't want you to think I walk around with all this encyclopedic knowledge of music bouncing around in my head)

The Beastie Boys recorded a country album. How did none of us ever hear about this? They only cut a few copies for friends and family and never released it.

Go to 12:00 minutes to hear Rapper's Delight as a hillbilly song.

Million Dollar Quartet - "Just A Little Talk With Jesus"

"44 years ago, this morning (11/23/76), Jerry Lee Lewis was arrested by Memphis police and charged with public drunkenness and gun possession. Lewis, 41 at the time, was at Graceland waiving around a gun and demanding to see Elvis Presley when a guard called police on The Killer."

I've since heard that the event was not nearly as threatening as it has been made out to be; still, great story.
