Funny Girl 1966 London Cast Music by Jule Styne; Lyrics by Bob Merrill Label: Pye; CD: DRG (The London production of "Funny Girl" with Barbra Streisand opened in April 1966. Shortly thereafter, Streisand found out she was pregnant and began missing performances. Her understudy, Lisa Shane, filled in and eventually took over when Streisand pulled out of the show completely. Ticket sales dried up and it closed after only 96 performances. Fortunately, Pye Records recorded Ms. Shane singing four of her numbers from "Funny Girl" and released them as an EP. The songs on the EP were issued as part of this compilation CD of rare Pye musical theatre recordings.)
