In reality, I bet their a bit disappointed with themselves. They both would have started, and they both would be in the 16--rather than in New Jersey and Serbia, respectively.

I'd rather find out what other un-capped dual nationals are thinking.

its a possibility i'll give you that

Now if Italy crashes out of the group stage then I will 100 percent think "what if" is going through his mind

Rossi, assuming health and his career keeps going in the right direction will almost be a lock for Italy in 2014.

Subotic on the other hand, even though he is young, Serbia is no lock to make it out of European qualifying every cycle. This *could* be his only chance at the WC.

Subotic's nation is not the USA, he lived here for 7 years out of his first 18 and was not born here.

Earnie Stewart has lived in the US a total of 2 years his entire life and that was in his 30's. Jermaine Jones has never lived in the US. Do you consider them traitors to the Netherlands and Germany respectively?

We have to respect their decision to represent the country they identify most with over the USA because in the end it is how their heart fee...

I've got a month off until club training camp starts. Euro qualifying is a couple of months away. I think I'm gonna go bang my hot ass girlfriend a couple of times a day for the next 30 days and then get back to work.

Funny, when these players still had a choice to make, the arguments being made on here were "They should feel a sense of pride in where they're from" (Rossi), or "They were trained by our youth system, they should maintain that allegiance." (Subotic).

When they chose to make other decisions, those same people assumed that they only did so because they were glory hogs, and wanted to play on nations that had the best chance of winning. No one seemed to give credence to the idea that, the same type of allegiance we expected them to have to the US, they might actually have toward another country.

Ironically, now that we're in the better position, we're starting threads saying they should feel bad for not picking the country that's in the better position? Seems like our perspective shifts every day.

It's an odd case of short term memory loss. It's also extremely shortsighted--given the age of each player, they should still have at least one more World Cup run in them, as well as a few European Championships. Quite possibly two WC each, and could do better than the US in each of those. If that's the case, will there be threads in four years' time praising them for their decisions, or will we then go back to saying they're traitors?

Rossi has admitted that he feels very much a part of both nations. And that he cheered for the US once Italy were eliminated from the Confed Cup. My guess is he's hoping Italy do well today, and making plans to cheer on his second favorite national team on Saturday with friends.

Subotic's situation is different, since in truth, his preferred country was Germany. So, if anything, he's probably cursing FIFA, wishing that he was getting ready to play England on Sunday, rather than sitting at home.

Perhaps a more interesting question is, "What is Freddy Adu thinking right now?" Before the last World Cup, Ghana's coach basically guaranteed him a spot in the team. He turned it down for the chance to represent the US. Had he chosen his native country, he'd probably be getting ready for the 2nd round of the World Cup, for the 2nd time. As it is, he may never see a WC roster. Doesn't seem to be any outrage about that on here...

As an Italian-American it's a freaking blast watching this team of prima-donna biatches crap all over themselves against Slovakia.
    I love it man.
