The team is a joke, and now typical offseason ,we will get a whole new team,no chemistry again and same old crap every year.

You should be shot. How many times does it need to be said not to say ANYTHING that would reveal the result of the game?

Theres a rule on this site. Any posts with results should have [R] in the title.

If the Metros should make the play-offs, they should have the privilage of playing before an empty stadium 9/29. This team has done NOTHING to deserve support. I have never witnessed a team roll over and die like the Metros have. Seven years of unfulfilled promise is enough. To have any hope of changing things for the future it is time for some serious tough love.

Same thing I feel. We support like crazy. Spend money on tickets, and stay up 'till 3 in the morning to watch a tape-delay of a 0-3 loss. I'm still gonna be a fanatic, and run my site, but I just won't have the same heart knowing that the 3rd string midfielder will start.

Is it that hard to support a team with Tim Howard and Clint Mathis?

Then again, I guess it is a little madenning to watch a team so talented self-destruct year after year. But you have to look on the bright side (again):

You brought in several new players, many of them very young, like Ziadie, Akawari, Davis, and Moore. Andy Williams was a great addition, too.

You stand to pick up some serious salary cap room is you loose Tab, Cello, and maybe Diallo. Plus, you won't be paying Richie Williams's salary anymore.

This finish should get you a new coach and a reletively high draft pick.

I know what you're saying, but on the other hand wouldn't it be good to raise a middle finger to the NJSEA and possibly wake up MFO by having an electric atmosphere in an intimate stadium like Newark and get a preview of the future? Even if it is (most likely) only a one game preview?

What a shame after he invited us into his house before last week's D.C. - Metro match

Like it really matters now. In your past life did you rearrange the deck chairs on the Titanic?

It would matter to the person at work, browsing bigsoccer to pass the time, and looking fwd to getting home to watch the game he had taped. I personally know better than to come here if I don't want to know a result before being able to watch a game. As Ben said, this IS a stupid rule. Everyone should know better. Thanks to all the asses who can't help but whine, bitch and moan...in the SUBJECT line!

How is it a stupid rule? It keeps threads with results obvious. If you've ever taped a game and had to watch it later, you know the experience of getting the result blown for you. Granted, sometimes people throw [R] in when the game isn't even televised, but the rule is there for everyone, not just for you because you like it, nor will it be removed for you because you don't.

It's called being respectful to others. It doesn't limit your free speech, just start titles with things like "Post Game [R]" or "Looking Ahead [R]" instead of "Crap, we lose again" or "Another great win!". One day, this will payoff in your favor and you will be glad someone else wasn't a tool.

"who knows,,this could be the last time we see petke in a metro jersey"

Someone on another thread said part of the problem with the backs is that our center backs Petke and Flip throw in are not center backs. They are wing backs. He may have a point.

Maybe, Oz went from three to four backs because he knew neither one can control the middle of the field. This created another problem the young guys that now are our wing backs.

Another problem we lost our 2 wing mids. We all liked Chung quick, beat people off the dribble, and was good for 7/8 goals a season. Even though Vellegas was not liked he did help bring the ball up the field, and was good for another 6 or 7 goals a season.

Between those 2 wings they scored about 13 to 15 goals a season. How many goals did we get out of our wing players this year?

Balboa was to be the center back with those two as wing backs. Balboa never recovered from his injury.

Hasn't anyone figured it out yet. This whole Metro vs. NJSEA thing and the Harrison project were manufactured to distract attention away from the crap product that trots out for each game. The only recipient of a raised finger should be the MFO. We all saw a preview of the future the last half dozen games or so. Unless the fans speak up and speak up loudly history will continue to repeat itself.

In the event that you are not trying to get a rise out of anyone, I'll just say it would be easier to support them if they acted like they wanted to be here.

Mathis I agree with, I don't think he wants to be in MLS, let alone Metro.

I don't see it with Howard. I think he may be disgusted with how the defense has been playing, but that's understandable. If that's how he plays when he doesn't want to be there, ask him if he doesn't want to play in Dallas and we'll swap you him for Jordan!

Has the irony of Billy Walsh going to the play-offs (as of this posting) instead of the Metros occurred to anyone? Talk about adding insult to injury.
