Hell yes - just when you think he can't say anything more idiotic out comes the next post and he's done it again.

To be fair - that is a pretty impressive talent - if only he could put it to better use...:D

i've noticed that when people on this forum don't know how to reply (usually to a topic that involves thinking outside the realm of who will start the match or who will win or whats your stance on so and so) they will insult the person who made the topic rather than appearing to not know how to answer.

it brings me joy to post on knowing that this is the turning point of american soccer and that there are many americans kicking ass in europe and that we're about to do some more ass kicking on the 18th of this month

It's only 2 games, don't count your chickens. And we haven't won a game in Europe since Austria in '98 so lets not get ahead of ourselves.

The funny thing about a turning point is that you don't realize its one until it has passed you by.

alright then, tim howard starting for manchester united was the turning point, right now is the immediate effect of that turning point. U.S soccer has never been as respected as it is now.

I'm with you. I like this site a lot, and I think in general the people are exceptionally smart and nice. But then there are those who feel the need to tell someone every time there is a topic of conversation that is not worth their time.

BS has a group of hardcore soccer fans that whine all day about how Americans dont understand soccer and there's not enough attention given to it. Then a new fan comes along, says he is happy to be a US soccer fan, and they ream him. You people are idiots. If you dont like the thread, dont post in it, and sorry if it takes up a precious line on your little forum. If you leave it alone, it will fade away. But people who feel the need to call someone dumb and thell them to stfu for saying they like soccer on a soccer board are, i repeat, idiots. Get a life.

Was this post made in 1989 when someone named Paul made that looping shot? If so, spot on.

    i think you're absolutely correct...

korea/japan, and the germany game in particular, was an effective (and not unnoticed) statement that we can, at times, play with the best of them...

can't wait for the game in amsterdam...it will be nice to see if we can improve on the last US/HOL game i saw, which the US lost 2-0, if i remember correctly...

regardless, i'm glad arena's around through '06, and a return to the final eight is neither illogical nor improbable...

peace, and watch out for ashcroft...

they are not postedd yet but they aint gonna be pretty - if i had to guess i'd say

    US win +450ish
    draw +300ish
    HOLLAND win -250ish

    or

    HOLLAND -2 US + 1.5, maybe HOLLAND -1.5 US + 1

    Heathen.

The turning point of American soccer was Freddy's mom winning the get-out-of-Ghana lottery.

Any other response is grounds for a visit from Cardinal Ximenez and the Spanish Inquisition.....
