ok so dallas has the following picks.. #4 (4th in 1st Rd from DC) #6 (6th in 1st RD from LA) #11 (1st in 2nd Rd) #29 (9th in 3rd Rd) #31 (1st 4th round (No 5th rd) #54 (4th in 6th Rd from DC) lets assume that ALL players that have been mentioned from the college ranks, u20s, and u17s that are talking about P40 leave this year. if that is the case, which six players do you draft and in which order. This thread can almost become a fantasy draft. you are the manager, take control and lead dallas to the mls cup. (lets be realistic too, the overseas guys like dave johnson and john spector arent going to come to mls from their respective clubs) use the draft pool brought to you by 3rd degree (thanks) for references. lets make this a good one! http://www.3rddegree.net/season/pool.htm JHF
Corey Ashe if available. JD Johnston from SMU if he skips the senior year. The best player at SMU is Kellen Zindell he's a shoe in for at least A-League. Ashe is best prepared but the shot at the MLS Combine with Johnston/Zindell will make some news.
If Ned Grabavoy declares himself eligible & falls to us in the 4th overall pick, we will have a significant impact player & contender for rookie of the yr. I think Ashe has some physical growing to do and may take a bit to get stuck in, but he'll shine on the flanks in the future. I believe he's right footed, but is equally dangerous on the left. Now if rumors on other boards about Gibbs bolting from the BL3 to MLS are true, he's a rising star in the making.
Re: Re: what 6 players do you draft this year thats not necessarily true, you dont think that these last guys want to prove to the team and everyone else that they have just as much skill. most of these players just want a chance, they will go for crap money just to get a chance to play. they dont make the league fix the draft so they get to go where they want to...(i.e. Jesus Adu) what you say in reality is true, they will be drafted, not play, and unless they are p40, its A-league or bust. just dont sleep on these "bad" players. who knows, there may be another Rudy movie out in a few years starring the heartwarming story of a dallas burn soccer player JHF
