    NYR Metros-
I'm pretty sure the wfan's call in # is 718.937.6666
    not 718.987.6666

could be the reason you couldn't get through

soon I will be taking your class, I feel like I am in Portuguese school again; my English was good enough to get me drafted in 1968, but not to post on my fucking thread.

Or maybe you should go back to calling WFAN. They care.

The last couple of times the Metro were in the playoffs, 2000 and 2001, didn't WFAN have one of the MSG broadcasting team on talking about the playoffs at some ungodly early hour on a Saturday morning?

I seem to remember that but it's been awhile.

    Maybe I'm just hallucinating.

Beowulf, maybe you should ease up on Frank. I mean if it makes you feel better to be this thread's resident grammarian and spelling Nazi, go right ahead. Not every fan of the Metros, or any soccer related item, is going to have excellent grammar, diction and spelling, if that doesn't make them good enough to be a super fan like you then they shouldn't even like the sport. Your air of superiority turns people off to the sport, when you should be seeking to do the opposite. One time was forgiveable, the second time was obviously a mean-spirited attack on his linguistic talents

What turns people off more, posting on a soccer message board or idiots calling WFAN, spawning more soccer hate, if anything? indeed

"METROSTARS SOCCER HOUR PROVIDES BREAKING NEWS: The MetroStars and Sports Radio 66 WFAN have teamed up to present a one-hour soccer show Sunday nights at midnight. The show, hosted by MetroStars television announcers Joe Tolleson and Tommy Smyth, airs every Sunday night through August 29.

The Sunday, July 4, show featured MetroStars Vice President Charlie Stillitano discussing the club's plans to announce new international players Sasa Curcic and defender Mohammad Khakpour. MetroStars supporters should expect more key announcements and prominent guests on future shows.

WFAN, the flagship station for the New York Mets, New York Knicks, New York Rangers, New York Giants, New York Jets and St. John's basketball, is owned and operated by Infinity Broadcasting, a subsidiary of CBS Corporation. The MetroStars soccer show will be the first-ever soccer programming available on WFAN, whose strong signal has been known at nights to go as far north as Maine and as far south as Georgia.

The MetroStars Soccer Hour will provide an outlet for passionate and casual soccer fans alike, with its mainly call-in format. Fans can participate by calling (718) 937-6666. "
