On Twitter I see a lot of stuff that people post as "new" but has been around for years. What's yours?
I did my first "today we're starting with 4v4 grab a pinnie and get out there" in 2012, then an ssg to bring out playing wide, then scrimmage, so , play practice play?
I admit I was doubtful (nothing is "new" in my view, except the current "policy"). So I googled "new soccer drills". The first hit I looked at said "toe taps" (i.e., the Coerver exercise) were a "new drill". "New" to the poster evidently.
Around that time for me too. Saw an English coach do it as a gathering activity while players filtered in. Loved it as it was a much better use of time than a) being a hard ass and starting practice at 5 pm on the dot and have half players miss the warmup or b) let them shoot on goal until we reached critical mass.
