That has been their usual deployment. Cambiaso was brought in as a wingback/fullback. Luckily he has shown the ability to play in the midfield as well so he is a versatile player. Weah was brought more as a winger who can also play wingback depending on the system deployed. He is a fast technically good winger who should do well in Motta's system as he will work both ends of the pitch.

McKennie played a key part in Juventus' past season, however, now for Giuntoli he has become a problem😕Who is to blame for the current situation?👇— Bianconeri Zone (@BianconeriZone) July 22, 2024
Who's to blame? They're all to blame.............................. But there will be only one winner. Juve.
Who’s to blame? What’s the problem? If it’s Wes wants more money, too bad, he signed through this season under his current deal so he should’ve thought of that then. If it’s Juve doesn’t want to pay him, too bad, they signed him through this season under the current deal so they should’ve thought of that then. If Wes says I won’t move unless it’s for more money, that’s his right. If Juve says he’s not in their plans, that’s their right, but they still have to pay him. Seems to me there’s no blame, just two parties on equal footing at loggerheads. I don’t like that Juve is trying to squeeze a guy who gave it all he had for your shirt, but I guess that’s just business. I also don’t like McK seemingly prioritizing his paycheck over competitive minutes, but I guess that’s just business. Several words to say nothing new here, I know.
Yup. Worst case scenario us Weston sits and gets paid then moves next summer. I’m sure something will sift out though. His wage demands will probably be prohibitive for Venezia (and that whole wanting to play in champions league thing)
The “problem” is the Yank didn’t jump at the first opportunity out the door and instead is acting in his own interest. That or he still didn’t move his car from the parking space.
The McKennie to Everton rumor resurfaced. Everton do need help in midfield after selling Onana to Villa............after Villa didn't get McKennie. That wouldn't satisfy the whole "Champions League" angle, and who knows if they'll meet his salary demands, but at some point you have to go where you're wanted. Everton have just submitted a ‘tempting’ bid to sign £17m player who his team want to sell
If he wants solid competition week in week out with pretty good pay, Everton. if he wants champions league with decent pay, hope Atalanta or Napoli link resurfaces if he just wants to get paid, Saudi. hindsight is 2020 but villa looked like his best bet to check all boxes
I don't get how it's ever in a club's interest to announce he's not in their plans. Even if he's not on the squad, why would you telegraph to counterparties that you need to move him at fire sale prices? Sitting out for a year getting paid is a bad development for Wes -- only he knows if it's better than giving some ground -- but the resulting free transfer is a catastrophe for Juve, at least relative to getting any fair price and paying only some of his wage.
I used to think this but it worked out really well for Dest. McKennie could use a bit of a break so Juve back him into a corner he can use it to heal completely. By the second half of the season he can even do a pre-contract.
Well, I see we have many on here who are pretty good a making lemons into lemonade! Anyhoo, yes he gets paid this year no matter what unless he just refuses to train with the kids. But he sets his career back a year in a year he needs to be taking a step forward before 2026. He must have really not enjoyed his time in the Prem to turn down that Villa deal. If he can hook on somewhere else in Serie A or maybe Germany ,then it may have been worth the agro, but he has put himself in a box now and Juve keep buying midfielders. If he had just accepted the deal offered him he wouldn't be where he is now. I hope he doesn't go the Saudi to get paid. That would be a disaster for his career, though it may be good for his bank account. Chiesa is in a similar situation though he can still accept his deal. The club is serious about addressing the wage issue and these two situations prove it/
Ok. If they are hard balling Chiesa, a much more i portent player to Juve (and the Azzurri) than Wes is, he needs to find another club pronto: ‼️ Juventus intends to make Chiesa a reduced offer, not at the current figures of around 5mln€, excluding bonuses. @FabDellaValle via: @junews24com | #Juventus pic.twitter.com/nVx8AwdAwk— Bianconeri Zone (@BianconeriZone) July 23, 2024
I would think he would have some Bundesliga fallbacks since he played well at Schalke. We'll see as he's been written off more than any US player this side of Clint Dempsey. Must be a Texas thang.
That's the thing. There are only so many clubs he can go to that can afford those salary demands. He seems also to want to go to a Champions league club. I don't know if the twitterverse is ever accurate on this stuff. Let's be honest, its just passing on information from European gossip rags like its substantiated fact. Apparently, all you need to do is put "transfer market specialist" in your twitter bio and people think you know what you're talking about. I'll try. Clint Eastwood, a BigSoccer transfer specialist, has heard that Weston McKennie would prefer to move to the Premier League.
So does anyone know of available CL teams all over Europe that need a midfielder and can afford him. Probably not a huge list but I haven't seen any teams in Germany mentioned and surely one or two would fit. Spain, France?
Juventus planning five sales to finance Koopmeiners move - The list revealed - | Juvefc.com ..according to Sky Sport Italia via TuttoJuve, the management has listed five players who must be sold to finance the Koopmeiners operation. The first name on the list is Matias Soulé who can generate the biggest transfer fee. Juventus are refusing to sell the Argentine for anything less than 35 million euros despite Roma’s vigorous attempts. Then we have Dean Huijsen who could yield a figure worth 25 million euros. The 19-year-old is watched by Paris Saint-Germain, Wolfsburg and Stuttgart. The third name on the list is Wojciech Szczesny who has become surplus to requirements following Michele Di Gregorio’s arrival. The Pole has been linked with Al-Nassr and Monza, but doesn’t appear close to sealing a move just yet. Finally, Max Allegri’s favorites Mattia De Sciglio and Daniele Rugani are now considered among the deadwood and will have to find new accommodations.
He didn't really, why would a team do anything but low ball Juve? Unless you are considering this as a means to pressure McKennie to take what he can get or miss a year of play while getting paid and enjoying the cuisines of Northern Italy. Which might not be the flex they think it is.
