Openda makes it 3-0 (Wes not really involved in the play). I bet that makes David feel even more hard done by the changing of his goal to an OG... edit: now a lengthy VAR check is taking place. edit2: Joao Mario was in an offside position in the build up, the match remains 2-0.
He looked really good this game. He had a number of steals, interceptions. One play stuck out... in the first half a teammate made a very weak pass to Wes which was cleanly intercepted. Wes busted his butt to close down the guy with the ball, and stayed with the play until he won the ball back. It stuck out to me because it was not Wes' givaway, but he reacted like it was. That long diagonal ball, about 40-50 yarder, was also a thing of beauty. He got a FotMob 7.6 (10 good, 1 bad), tied for highest of the match (David and Cabal also got 7.6).
Juve vs Napoli Napoli score in the 7th minute (after missing a great opportunity a minute earlier). Wes is kind of right side-center mid. The left side of Juve looks awful to start. Cabal and Koopmeiners are not impressing.
I think I'm watching because the orange ball is so exciting and because Juve's strategy of fielding 9 soccer players and 2 rented mules is so silly. 30 minutes in, Juve seems to be waking up a little and somehow Napoli hasn't scored again.
Wes seems mostly asleep. A couple of nice moves but some really poor one-touch passes and half-hearted defense.
Several great plays by Wes and then that fabulous assist now! But off-side? Yep, 37' review says he was just a bit too far ahead.
solid, if unspectacular first half from Wes. Juve is up 1-0 after looking the better team so far. finish this strong! fino alla fine
Assist - Weston. it always cracks me up when they guy who scores a tap in acts like he scored a 60 yard worldie banger in the top corner.
Great header by him first, and then calm to handle the spill by the keeper and lay it off so smoothly.
Very good play by Wes. He rose to meet a very nice cross from the right with a strong header, but the keeper makes the reaction save. Rebound fortunately falls back to Wes who has a man on him, but he has the presence of mind to play a quick square ball to Openda for the tap-in (and first Serie A goal).
