Correct. Onyewu went in on Ibrahimović with a reckless tackle which started a fight during training. Max Allegri then called off practice. The two were then separated by teammates, though the club reported he and Ibrahimović have made up for their fight. That happened in On November , 2010 and in January 2011, Onyewu joined Dutch side Twente.
Hmm…interesting. I don’t remember it this way at all…though it’s been a long time. I recall it was Zlatan being well…Zlatan…and Gooch simply not taking his shit. And the result of Zlatan being Zlatan and Gooch being Gooch is Gooch was shipped out despite Zlatan instigating edit: should have done this first. You are correct…I am wrong, leaving this here rather than deleting https://www.bigsoccer.com/threads/onyewu-still-at-milan-5-r.1576883/#post-22154240
Reports at the time were in fact the exact opposite. That Zlatan was the one who went in with a rough challenge.
Thinking back, I remember two different stories. During a notorious AC Milan training session in November 2010, American defender Oguchi Onyewu and Zlatan Ibrahimović engaged in a violent physical altercation that was described by witnesses and participants as a "life or death" struggle. Key Details of the Fight The Trigger: The brawl reportedly started after Ibrahimović launched a dangerous, two-footed sliding tackle at Onyewu during a scrimmage. Onyewu, who was recovering from a major knee injury at the time, reacted by grabbing Ibrahimović by the neck. Physical Confrontation: The two hulking athletes—both over 6'4" and weighing around 100kg—exchanged headbutts, punches, and knees while rolling on the ground. The Aftermath: Ibrahimović later revealed in his autobiography, I Am Zlatan, that he suffered a broken rib during the fight. Teammate Alexandre Pato recently recalled that Onyewu "threw him down with ease" and that players had to intervene because they feared Onyewu might "kill" Ibrahimović I spoke to Onyewu's sister a number of years back and she said Gooch was ready to kill him but then Ibrahimović had a black belt in Taekwondo, which he earned in Sweden so they may have been seriously hurt.
Quiet game as Juve take it 1-0. As usual Juve had plenty of chances, just couldn't finish. I thought Weston could have done a bit better himself in the final attacking moves he tried some things that just didn't quite come off when he had other options.

Como beat Roma 2-1 so Juve now are effectively 2 points out of UCL qualification with Como (for now) holding the slight lead in GD. Como has Napoli and Inter still in Serie A and face Inter in the Cup final just two days after they face Sassualo in league play. They will have some tough decisions to make. Juve for their part obviously need to keep winning. Their toughest game left is 4/26 at Milan, which will be a critical game for both if Como slip up at all.
According to google - their average opponent rank is the same down the stretch. Como plays top teams but plays more lower ranked teams apparently. The Cup will also be hard to ignore since they've never won Coppa Italia. Maybe it won't be that critical for Milan at that point.
It might have been a bit lost in translation but Spalletti said "Juve is Weston Mckennie and 10 other footballers".
Interesting. That would be a pretty stupid thing to say, especially when Yildiz is clearly the best player and future of the club. Edit. It would be inappropriate to say that Juve is Yildiz and 10 other football players as well. Regardless of the player.
I took it as the lineup - basically he can put Wes just about anywhere on the field so he's an automatic for the lineup.
I can only find the quote accredited to Poch. “It’s true that Juventus is Weston McKennie plus 10 players,” Pochettino said in his press conference. In that context, I believe it reads that Poch is saying that Wes is the first name on the team sheet. I don't agree, but he is an automatic starter.
That is such an exaggerated statement by Pochettino. As USMNT coach in a World Cup year that we are hosting, I'm sure he wants to brag about Weston McKennie and I don't blame him.
of course it is, this is Kenan Yildiz team. With that said, Wes is an undisputed starter and part of the core of the team along with Bremer, Kalulu, and Locatelli.
Yildiz does have the most starts this season for Juventus. Of course, McKennie is virtually never subbed off, so that's a feather in his cap.
