There is a lazy narrative among some Juve fans sadly that "oh if Weston is one of your key players Juve isn't the Juve of old". Well BS. When motivated and on form (which has been most of the last two years) Weston is one of the top 15% or so of midfielders in Serie A. If you had another 3-4 players as consistent as Weston and then replaced the bottom 1/3 of your starting lineup with quality players instead of JAG types you'd be right back fighting for the Scudetto every year -- that and finding a quality manager. Spaletti seems to be doing a great job, if they can offload Dusan's salary and maybe just stop playing scrubs like Cambiaso and Koopmeiners so much they'll be a top 4 finisher and should have plenty of reasons to bring back Weston.
It looked like your old account got hacked as it posted a bunch of nonsense - is that possible? If you want your old one back, send me a PM>
Wow,if we lock accounts for people who post nonsense,it'll be just me, @roby ,@The Jitty Slitter left!
Well technically he wasn't even locked - I think someone changed his password somehow. This is the kind of content I mean - technically not nonsense but probably not relevant for many bigsoccer users: Segala kendala di Tokopedia? It's not lazy, I think you're letting your bias get to you. I bet those users who you're seeing also say the same about the overwhelming majority of other players in the squad. Sure, there is probably some American bias from the Juventini, but I don't think we would be saying the same if Pulisic, Jedi or possibly even Richards were wearing the black and white. With that said, I agree there are other issues that need to be fixed before pushing someone like Wes out.
That's not all that good for a title-chasing team. 512 players have played in Serie A this season. If 40% of them are midfielders, that's 205. Top 15 percent means he's one of the top 30? That's good overall, but a title-chaser would want a guy at that level to be depth, not a key player.
The best guidance I can find in recent years on this specific subject is the "changes and clarifications to the laws of the game 2021/ 2022." And I checked all subsequent years changes and clarifications presentations. To me his arm was in a natural position for his slide, which also blocked the ball that deflected onto his arm. Totally agree it should've been reviewed. It's not 50/50 to me though. I hate the non-deliberate handball change. Anyway, I'll stop discussing it now.
They might've been citing some type of PGMOL guidance as IFAB/FIFA guidance, but, regardless, we're essentially making the same point (it's a subjective call).
You're the most philosophical and sane stooge. @russ must be Moe based on his post, overestimating his no-nonsense cred. Now, who's Curly?
Curly Joe? Sorry, not a true stooge. I can accept Shemp though (was he before curly, or after, or both?).
It's like he should gotten an assist but I also understand why they don't do that. Pity because he was 99% responsible for that goal and doesn't get anything credit.
Juventus tier 1 journalist. Juventus is not giving up in finding an agreement with Wes. Rinnovo #McKennie: la #Juve non mollae proverà a giocarsi le sue carte // Renewal McKennie: Juve won’t give upand will try to play its cards 👀🇺🇸@ilbianconerocom— Romeo Agresti (@romeoagresti) January 14, 2026
Nicolò Schira is confirming this in Tuttosport, with additional claims: Schira thinks a salary of between €3.5m-€4m net will get Wes' signature BuLi and PL clubs are circling (he also nods towards rumors coming out of Turkey, but... like... what player isn't the subject of a rumored move to Turkey?). Also notes the Milan rumor. He thinks that reports that Wes is considering an MLS move are "sensational" and "unlikely". But that's just his opinion, no firm claims either way if they're real Schira claims that Wes and Giuntoli had settled on renewal back in March of 2025 at €3.6m net per season for 4 years, but that Giuntoli couldn't get it through the rest of the administrative process before he was replaced by Comolli in June, and that Comolli was the main person trying to move Wes away from Juve over the summer. He's since been convinced by Spalletti to attempt another renewal. He pens the phrase "Wes We Can", which is solid.
