Not exactly a radical statement. To my mind one thing is clear, now are troops have gone in, British Muslims are still not backing them. Surely those who are anti-war would at least give backing to our troops, but it seems Allied troops do not represent western Muslims. To me this is a great worry and one that shows the huge divide between our communties and one that will only deepen over years. From their stance, it shows that it is the Western Muslims who regard this as a religous war. No matter what you feel about the rights and wrongs over this war, surely you would want to give your full backing to allied troops ?
Wow, great post. The use of specific examples and evidence to back up your hugely generalized point is impressive indeed. Pretty much makes your argument airtight, I'd say. Bravo.
Of course not every single Muslim, there are always exceptions to every rule. However, I would say the overwhelming majority are. Where does anyone get their facts from ? I don't use a poll or a particular newspaper to get mine. You are always fed lies. i experience it from real people. The people (Muslim) I have spoken too, heard on the radio, and yes seen on the TV (anti war demos etc) , are opposed to this war in the strongest way possible.
Maybe those western Muslims you have seen aren't anti-West. Perhaps they just have a better understanding of MidEast politics and religion and what the long-term side effects of this war will be than you do.
Another high quality delivery from a poster who is in no way shape or form afflicted by a limited cerebral range. I thought British Muslims supported the war because it would liberate their Iraqi cousins from an evil dictator? Isn't that what the pro-war gang was telling us as little as a week ago? That's why there were no Muslims at the various peace rallies. Only white, middle class students are anti-war, after all.
I hope that GringoTex or Dante close this one. Why? 1. It's trolling, plain and simple 2. It has NOTHING to do with the "Iraq Military Action" forum 3. It has NOTHING to do with "Politics," this forum's parent.
And what do you suppose those long term side-affects will be ? Fopr the Iraqi people (and thats what matters most here) the long term affects are going to be positive. Why do Musilms not focus on this issue ? Why do they see it as some kind of Christian crusade ?
And British christians, of course. Another shifty bunch of anti-western turncoats. http://www.thisisnottingham.co.uk/d...layContent&sourceNode=65583&contentPK=4828387
How does a person show that they "backing our troops" ? Is there a speacial pin badge or secret handshake ? or do people just walk up to strangers and express their backing ?
