People don't dislike Arsenal - they dislike Arsenal supporters. Not sure how much of a distinction that is, however.

Nah, I think it's both. There's a lot of hate of Arteta.

A lot of hate for Gabriel, Saka and Rice as well from opposition fans. I have even seen people accuse Zubimendi of being "arrogant" :ROFLMAO:

But because we "cheat" set pieces and because we "cheated" teams into conceding own goals a lot of our players are dislike.

That said everyone seems to like Timber, Calafiori, MLS and Dowman.

I know people who say Lewis-Skelly is ‘dirty’.

At 19 he's already a master at physical contact and drawing fouls. Does that make him dirty IDK. But if it does, I'll take it.

It's all anecdotal. I've heard "people" say MLS is dirty. I've heard "people" say Calafiori is an annoying pretty boy.

With respect to Calafiori I’d bet their girlfriends or wives have mentioned how good looking they think he is.

Some of the hate is still based on a French Manager crashing the good old boys manager fraternity and bringing in a bunch of foreign players. IIRC Wenger was the first manager to field a team without an Englishman in it.

Was that Englishman-less side also all black?

I stand corrected, a little research indicates that Wenger wasn’t the first manager to field an all foreign eleven, but he had done so more often than all the other premier league teams combined when he retired.

Wenger is 1 billion percent a big part of the Arsenal derangement syndrome that these pundits are infected with.

But to coop’s point I think he was the first to field an all black 11.
