There are probably voters looking for a reason not to give England the world cup. They just found it tonight.
Just got back from watching the game. Good game, but what a load of knuckle dragging, moronic idiots. The club will undoubtedly receive a heavy fine and these scenes will be seen all over the world on news shows. England won´t get the world cup, West Ham may well be kicked out of the competition, but these idiots will say they have now got respect and they are proud to be West Ham.
True but, honestly, who didnt see this coming? Surely more could have been done to stop the utterly predictable? I'm not trying to excuse anyone; it was just so predicatable
It was. I am amazed that the police were not checking out WHO and Millwall on line. It was so obvious. It was our lot that invaded the pitch though. Are there so many A.D.H.D. West Ham fans? On WHO now there are idiots saying things like ¨We showed them we won´t take no shit on our manor. Proud to be West Ham after that. I wish I could of done a few myself¨ Yeah, they do write ´could of´
and not could uv? impressive. was working all day-- only managed to check things out now. unbelievable. the last thing the club needs is more money out the window...it's a shame, a disgrace but who doesn't wish they were there today? electric, albeit electrifying at time. other than the match and the fans it sounds like everything went peachy.
oh well, another day of explaining to canadians "no I'm not a hooligan, and for the record in my favourite sport fighting some times breaks out between fans, but in your favourite sport the players fight each other!" be interesting to see how some of the more 'west ham unfriendly' journos play this out...
[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T0C_Po3eC5o"]YouTube - West Ham Millwall Penalty Pitch Invasion 2009[/ame] After the penalty. There are a number of other mobile uploads as well. Look around. Crazy stuff.
No, we dont take shit on our manor! It would appear that we bring our own. (Actually considering our manor includes the Northern outfall sewer, thats almost funny) No it aint.
Crazy times this week. Davenport stabbed in legs and almost murdered. Collison's dad killed in accident driving to spud match. Cole's great gole followed by bonehead back pass. Rioting outside ground. Pitch invasion.
Absolutely disgraceful. Both sides should be fined for this. Innocent people and children had to witness this nonsense.
The problem here is that the Hammers will get fined a lot of money, and there could be other penalties too; like playing a game with spectators banned, altho' that's unlikely. It's been a long time since this kind of stuff has occurred. One unusual thing; there were quite a few women who ran on to the field! It's a shame all of this marred what was apparently an exciting game.
Tony i was posting following you on those threads. The guy CarlitosClaret & BB is American don't think he has been to a live game. I think you called him a moronic wanker. Guys like that watched Green Street hooligans and think they are stars emulating the film. It was never like that in real life, even in Derby matches. My grandfather always said Millwall were our rivals back in his day near 100 years back. The rivalry/hatred or whatever goes back that far. I always think Spurs are our main rivals more because Millwall are a lower league club. My belief is the trouble makers don't go to many games. Especially the trouble makers outside the ground. I loved derby rivalry and the adrenalin rush. I think true supporters from both sides really enjoyed it last night for that reason. Those condoning what happened were no where near it, probably hiding behind behind 50 cops. Shouting bring it on in the lowest voice they could. The rest were listening on the wireless or watching the stream which i couldn't find. Probably beating up their Teddy bear, hoping it wouldn't fight back.
I was at the 2005 1-1 draw. Flew all the way from San Jose to see it. Electric atmosphere inside and outside the ground. COME ON YOU IRONS!!!
Feel gutted for Collison, took a lot for him to be out there and to have the Millwall fans singing "you should have died with your dad" as reported is disgusting. Was good to see Zola and Clarke trying to comfort him as he cam eoff though.
That's the frirst quote I have heard of any trouble caused by Millwall. As it was our 'fans' who invaded the pitch the press will naturally use this as a means to pick on West Ham again. But we shouldn't forget that fewer Millwall fans were there and even those few in the ground still had a go at stewards as they seemingly tried their own pitch invasions. Most Millwall fans who wanted a fight were probably outside the ground getting involved in the real trouble. I suppose the limited ticket numbers for them didn't help. The trouble was definitely organised though, which makes me fear that all this is starting up again. If it is then I hope these people are punished and never come back to UP again. Us true fans don't deserve to be tarred with the same brush as these idiots. As for the game I listened to it until 4 minutes to go. Feeling like this was just another dismal performance I turned Radio London off at 0-1 and watched some TV. Some program about two South African kids swapped at birth. You can imagine my response when I later flicked it over to SSN to see us 3-1 up and still playing. Naturally the hypocritical SSN concentrated more on the violence than the football (is this not what they criticise the fans of doing!?!) and Phil Thompson had a dig at everyone he clapped eyes on, including Junior Stanislas for celebrating his goal!?! The violent events deserve criticism but this was taking it too far IMO.
