Why the simile? Surely, 'the team, a bunch of idiots, performed' would be more accurate?

I'm happy for Boston that they beat the curse of the Bambino at last. But the 'world' series. I demure at the title. And MY FOOTBALL team are crap!

If this bunch of useless tossers were our main strike force & defence in WW2, we'd all be speaking fluent German by now, I give up, we're hopeless!!

Profound words, I'm beginning to think you were right all along stomper, maybe Brown should have cut back on the pie & mash, and his bloody goldfish, then we may have had enough dosh to attract Dowie or even better, Curbishley, ah well, I can't change clubs now.

    I'm over here!

Now we just have to break the curse of the Brownbino.

Words cannot describe how depressed I am at this result. I thought we were going the right way and the Plymouth performance was a minor hiccup. It now seems, however, that our problems run very deep and the thought of playing PL next year is actually scary.

Oh well, UP THE HAMMERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I got the impression Dowie wanted the job but was regarded as too inexperienced
