I'm gonna be very skeptical about this. I really don't know anything about Pardew, so I'm gonna take my time on him. As long as he's not anothe Rodent...we should be fine.
I am skeptical about him too. Of course I hope it works out for the best both for the Hammers and him, but the whole way he came to us seemed a bit underhanded, even if it was completely legit. One factor is that he is not a lifelong Hammer (that I know of) and I wonder if the loyalty would be there if he does well and a bigger, more high profile team comes calling. But I hope he does well and wish him nothing but success.
West Ham starting 11 1. David James 2. Tomas Repka 7. Christian Dailly 17. Hayden Mullins 14. Wayne Quinn 4. Don Hutchison 5. Robert Lee 6. Michael Carrick 12. Matthew Etherington 8. David Connolly 9. Jermain Defoe Forrest starting 11 1. Darren Ward 2. Matthieu Louis-Jean 5. Michael Dawson 4. Des Walker 23. Wes Morgan 8. Gareth Williams 17. Michael Stewart 14. Eoin Jess 7. Carrick with a flick header off a free kick... goes just wide! Crap start even though we are dominating possesion of play.
Here's my attempt at optimism: We might pull a draw out of this. Of course, when you are pessimistic, you are always pleasantly surprised when things go well.
Defoe equalizes!!!! Etherington cross from the left, Defoe hits the header from about ten yards out. West Ham United 1 Forrest 0
Here is a shocker ... Defoe just passed to Connolly ... atleast he tried to but it was way over his head. West Ham 1, Forrest 1
Ferdinand on for Lee Huge appeals for West Ham ... Connolly gets goal side of the keeper ... a leg is stuck out ... Connolly goes down but no foul is given. Repka with a foul ... Repka dissent, earns a yellow ... kick moved up another ten yards ... we have seen this before ...
