We're knackered! Chelsea are getting Gerrard, SWP and probably Owen. We'll not get a sniff of them next season and gawd help us, if Henry comes a cropper, the twits from Tampa...er...manchester will be above us again. I've had enough. I'm off to the Fulham Road to see about a season ticket.

I suspect that the hassle and chaos of trying to fill ticket requests for the last season at Highbury have driven him completely mad. On the other hand, maybe he's crazy like a fox, after all, if he becomes a Chav fan it will mean far less requests for tickets, and when people do ask, he can just tell them that tickets are still on sale directly from the Stamford Bridge box office.

Chelsea will be getting Gerrard, but they will not be getting Owen and SWP. Not getting Owen because he will want to try his chances in Spain for a while more, not getting SWP because the only places that say Chelsea is getting SWP are places like The Sun and The Mirror. Even if they get all three of these players, so what? Hleb and Bapista > Owen, SWP and Gerrard. At least you choose to support a team I predict to do well next season.........

Nice try, Yoss. I understand that you're trying to cover for Rick in his time of weakness, but save the conspiracy theories. We all know that the mods would never edit someones post or start a thread just to embarrass them. I'm sure Rick will come to his senses tomorrow and beg us to take him back, but lets see this for what it is, a cautionary tale about not paying to much attention to the tabloid gossip. The silly season can be too much for some people to take. Here's hoping that Rick recovers his sanity soon. Feel better Rick, and don't worry, we'll forgive you. There does seem to be some evidence that Clan has framed Rick here, but whether that's really the case or not can only be decided by a judge and/or a jury. Off to the Kangaroo Court with him!
Not quite, Yossarian. We should hope Rick forgives US - myself included - for losing faith in the face of these and other gloomy reports. This was not so much a cautionary tale as a sarcastic reply to those who would assume we cannot win with the team we have and, most importantly, with Arsene Wenger as manager. Let Chelsea sign them all - they are still only football players and only 11 play at a time, and no 11 men they have now or might have come August will be too good to assure we cannot defeat them or reclaim our Championship. For me, I do not worry about who Chelsea buys or sells but who WE buy or sell (or have the fair opportunity to buy for others visiting). If Wenger and the Board get it right there is NOTHING Chelsea can do no matter who they buy. We are the BEST team in England - Full Stop. And we can get even BETTER and be the BEST in Europe, too. With that in mind...HURRY UP AND SIGN BAPTISTA ALREADY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
